Welcome to HBGames, a leading amateur game development forum and Discord server. All are welcome, and amongst our ranks you will find experts in their field from all aspects of video game design and development.

Free music from young composer.

I am starting this topic to get feed back on my compositions, if anyone wishes to use them in their game or to have me compose piece for their game then feel free to ask.

I can do Midi tunes or Midi Mock ups [not real but more realistic] or Real Instruments.

I have much material already wrote and my styles vary hugely. I can write in pratically all styles.

Final Fantasy, like many composers for computer games, is a huge influence on me, the music by Nobuo Uematsu that is. So think styles like his.

Here is some MIDI pieces I have done.

The "Death Scene" piece is recorded with real instruments, its a short piece suitable for when one loses.

http://seangilleece.110mb.com/Death.zip - Piece for a death scene

http://seangilleece.110mb.com/Dreaming% ... alance.mid - Easy listening piece, lively, suitable for various non-action parts.

http://seangilleece.110mb.com/Dusk%20up ... 20sand.mid - Another easy listening piece, perhaps suitable for walking through a forest or such

http://seangilleece.110mb.com/Silence%2 ... denial.mid - Very fast metal piece, suitable for battle maybe. The midi needs to be changed though as the volumes are a bit messed up, I have a midi mock up version of this piece also.

http://seangilleece.110mb.com/The%20Nameless%20City.mid - a fairly simple piece, again easy listening, suitable for travel or such.

I will post more if people seem interested.

If you want to request pieces or such then please do so here,

They're alright, but they sound like they lack proper layering and composition, and is very repetitive.  It mostly just sounds like it's parts of a song chopped out of a metal album.

I admit the sound quality of the midi is horrible, I will post some clips of my better pieces soon.

Thanks for the comment, I will take the repetitiveness into account, I'm actually looking for constructive critism more than anything so I can help improve my compositions.

Yeah there ok, I produce artists more then music so I can't be super critical, but its hard to differ (if somone was singing on it) where the low, bridge, and chorus would go..... does that make any sense. Do you have anything with violins and rock guitars?

I have music with full orchestras and yeah rock guitar too.

I will post some soon, in a few minutes.

I just posted MIDI first of all because I thought that was all rmxp used! whoops!

My music isn't intended for vocals, I have done some pieces for vocals but vocals wouldn't be a big favourite of mine to be honest.

Come back in ten minutes, I will have some more posted up then, some actual MP3's this time!

here some are:

http://seangilleece.110mb.com/music/Sou ... nition.zip - Source of Ignition, a rock piece [its intended to be abit repetitive as that was how the person who wanted it made asked it to be]

http://seangilleece.110mb.com/music/The ... %20end.zip - A orchestra piece that starts of contemporary and strange before the snare and timpani give it a steady beat. One of my favourite pieces and the ender for my first album.

http://seangilleece.110mb.com/music/intro.zip - The intro tune for "Chaos Origins" [check the game out on the forums!] Its for the opening screen, I actually only wrote the piece today and recorded it today, I need to adjust the volume of the cello at the Coda and pre-coda section but otherwise I like this piece, it came out unbelievable quick! I just got instantly inspired by the game and wrote this piece.

I have much more music wrote but this should give a taste of some of my better works :thumb:

Hey I think they are good for games, I prefer up beat music (combining violins and guitars, oh ooohhh, sorry) if its gona be slow an conemperary, the piano solos or a love ballad are awesome. Nice work.

Yeah, I like everything but twang (people should die for making it). Hm I am looking for some custom music for my games (both Xp and THQ). Not sure what I want right now though.

heheh yeah and i listen to the music lot while i'm writing my novel... gets the mood going :P (which, i'm proud to say i've passed the 60 000 word mark and still not even a third of the way through :P)

Nice one, what is the book about?

The ff7 OST is amazing, really amazing.

Shinra army wages a full scale war, Rufus' welcomeing ceremony and Weapon Raid are among my favourites.

And of course One winged angel!

Anyone else listen to any of my music??

Some need more layers, but your off to a cool start :3
Dusk upon the sand is my favorite.
Just try more instrumental layering, it works wonders lol.

What is this written in?

Guitar pro.

I mainly posted those pieces because they would loop and suit games as I have only started to write for games for the past 2 weeks or so, so nearly all my stuff is not suitable for games!

I will probably redo what I have posted better!

Thanks for the advice.

Oh hey there Gillece....I like the stuff!  Man I wanna post some more of mine but what do you do to get the MIDI to sound more realistic like that on Guitar Pro?  I can't seem to get it past the real cheesy sounding kind.

Edit: OHHHHH ok...I see now...if you buy the full version you enable the "realistic sound."  Damn...60 bucks...grrrrr!!!
