fracture

i don't usually follow game releases too closely. so this might be old news to a lot of you. but today i stumbled across this game and it looks pretty badass. it's INCREDIBLY RARE that i see a game and say "oh wow i want to play that", even more rare when it's a bunch of dudes running around with guns. at first glance it seems really standard, but after watching the trailers and some intervies with gameplay videos, i have to admit that this looks really fucking fun

the game is fracture by lucasarts, and the big thing here is terrain deformation. unlike most shooting war games, where you are pretty much restricted by the level design, the levels here are malleable, and you have tools that allow you to warp and later the ground to your stratgic advantage

watch the two trailers on the official site, and then watch the video with the weird dude who talks about multiplayer. then you might think it's as cool as i do. like i said, it's INCREDIBLY RARE that i see a game and want it, but somehow this has made me want the 360 even more

I played the demo on the PS3 (downloaded it) and, it's ok. Would be much much better if it was for PC, but they're claiming that PC's can't handle the game. I roffle at them. At any rate, I probably won't get the game cause of it being mediocre at best.

I played the demo yesterday and it was pretty cool!! I mean it's not my kind of game at all (GUNS AND SOLDIERS GUNS GUNS GUNS) but the terrain shit was cool. i hated the controls though (i blame halo for singlehanedly ruining the controls of all video games)

It seems like an interesting take on shooters. I'd love to be able to just spring mountains up under people or put them all in little holes and that sort of thing. I'm a little wary since LucasArts is making it, but optimism never killed a cat.

Oh, wait, I have a 360 now! Guess I'll download the demo and see for myself! Heh heh heh!

I've played the demo. I wasn't to impressed. Because the extent of how you can deform the terrain is like you can only make it go down 3 times and up like an infinite amount.

I'd say its worth a rent but other than that its nothing to spectacular.

All you pretty much use the terrain for [[I can't remember what it was called in the game]] is to stop gun fire, walk under terrain, and to solve simple puzzles.
