For Original sci-fi fans - Some spaceships & such.

Hmm. Do you mean how it angles upwards? I'm curious how you'd expect it to move. The thrusters on this ship are not uni-directional, so it has to turn to face directions to move.

OK, I think I figured out my biggest problem with it. It's shaped like a much larger ship, and would have to move like one. Imagine the difference between an x-wing and a star detroyer. An X-Wing, being as small as it is, is much more maneuverable, and can move much more like an aircraft. (Dogfighting, etc) This ship, on the other hand, is shaped as though it's size is closer to that of a star destroyer, and should probably move accordingly. (So, moving more slowly, no atmospheres, and much less maneuverable than yours appears to be) Smaller ships look smaller, and yours all look much more like massive, space-bound citadels, fortresses, and war engines, which would be much more difficult to move.

Oh, and you can't exactly have unidirectional movment in space. You either have thrusters in every direction (so you can change direction) or you have thrusters that can move, because you can't move a flap to change directions in space. That is one of the single biggest failings of the star wars movies, aside from sounds in space and dodging laser beams.

Aha. Yes, the ship is 130km. But it's using systems far more advanced than those found in star wars. It is highly maneuverable, much more maneuverable than most of the Gahennas ships of a smaller classification. But I understand what you mean.

The interior of the ship is made out of energy, while the exterior is made out of a stone-like crystal from the inner circles of Hell. Although it has a tremendous amount of mass, its energy output is absurd. It can achieve higher speeds faster than virtually any kind of jump system fielded by mortal races. Its turning speed isn't so quick, but it is still capable of fairly ridiculous maneuverability. At least, in transit mode, anyway. Once it enters full combat state, it powers up a quantum energy barrier and the engines dis-engage to become Destroyers. Then it loses the majority of its speed and maneuverability, and acts as a Command and Control.

The side engines are the key to the ship's speed and maneuverability. They are Destroyers, coupled to the ship through an energy bond. The Destroyers themselves are specially-designed for this link, and their energy output is largely directed towards thrust by emitting elemental energy. Smaller ships, like the Gahennas Battlecruiser and the Gahennas Eradicator, don't possess special drives like this, and aren't nearly as maneuverable. (Well, the Eradicator is only 20km, so it is comparatively maneuverable, but not as fast. The Battlecruiser is much slower and more built to range down its opponents)

But I agree when the ship launches it should be a bit slower and more dramatic. I'm going to touch up the scene after I finish the first scene, the explosion scene I showed before. I'm making headway in my understanding of Afterburn.

And here's another render.

As you can see, I found someone to skin my Dreadnaught.
