Okay, coming from a veteran RMXP mapper, I am going to critique you on this, just as people used to critique on mine. :P
I know that the old one looked too blan and ugly, well, you were almost finished with that one; the more simple, the better. In your new map for that dungeon, you seem to like the "clutter" effect to fill the entire cave ground with stuff. Don't get me wrong, it looks amazing and beautiful in-game when you are playing with the special effects, but let me just tell you that is what I used to do and the people came back to me telling me my clutter was bad...
Okay, you are probably wondering what I say by clutter, what I mean is that your cave ground is probably not going to be that messy if it is a den. Yes, the caves have a lot of stuff on the ground, but not that much grass, and tree vines, and stuff like that. Let me give you an example of the caves I have received/mapped myself.
Examples:
These are all maps that have lost their "clutter." In these maps, the before maps had grass piles and flowers all over the place, now the ground is a little less cluttered and you can see now.
I know this may not help and people probably told you to put more into the map as they did to me, but I just thought I would present my mapping tips for you so you can see that maps can look "pretty" without having to be full of stuff. All this does is take away from the story, scene, or real meaning of what you want going on in the map. I am not saying make the map completely blank like a noob map would be, but this is coming along really nice and I thought I could just pass on what people taught me.
Good luck with the game and I look forward to more progress on this!
