[Fixed] Need help with having 1 event triggering another event

Gah. I just can't seem to figure out how to make this work.

What I'm trying to do is this: I have my main character in a prison cell and across the room is a guard. When my character walks up to the prison door and hits the action button, it will prompt a short scene of text and the guard will move over to the prison door. This will then initiate a battle. After the battle is won, the cell door will be open (Gone in this case).

That's what I want to happen anyway. But I can't figure out how to get the first event where you 'talk' to the cell door to get the guard (whom is another event) to walk over.

Oh, and I'm using VX.

Help please?
 
Okay, that works well. Except for the Self Switch part.

The Celldoor is a sprite on the screen, not an event.

I don't want an animation, I just want it to be gone after the fight.

I can't get the guard to disappear either after he's defeated.
 
You have to make the cell door an event and have it, triggered by a switch, to delete itself. Also, after making the battle processing against the guard, put in the 'if win' category, Delete Event.
 
Eep. I don't understand.

My Cell Door is 2 frames so I guess I would make them controlled by the same switch, but I can't find a 'if win' thing in the commands.

Edit: Nevermind. I got it.
