First sprite - Goku

Use imgzoom, please. I can't see it too well like this, but it needs more contrast, particularly the hair. If you use bluish grays to highlight it, it'll still look black, I promise! That black is also too hard for the rest of the colors; lighten it.

For first sprite, I say that one is awesome. Only a little bit weird is the eye which looks like....erm...weird. And the smile on the first frame totally ruin the sprite looks...

P.S: Are you making a Dragon Ball fangame?

yeah the smiley isn't staying thats for sure, that was just me messing about. think im just gonna go for no nose/mouth, i like the way it looks.
not sure what to do about the eyes/eyebrows, tried to keep the simple dbz style eyes but they do look a bit funny.

not sure if i'll ever get round to making the game, but thats the plan i guess. i'm VERY slow at making these atm as i've just started, but think i'll just do all the chars first, as i'm quite enjoying it.

thanks for the response

Hm. Part of it is that the eyes look square. Also, the thickness of the line at the bottom of the eyes tends to emphasize them, making him look both angry and perpetually short on sleep.

I think the hair needs another spiky bit or two on the stage-left (the reader's right) side, too. This looks lopsided.

right, cheers for the feedback.
i'll have a go at changing the eyes, i agree, he looks very angry
not sure whether i'll change the hair, might add a bit of shading and see how it looks but i'll leave the shape. if you look at this pic you can see why.

same reason why im not sure about shading the hair, as it is never shaded in the anime, although it may look better in rm

Too be honest, he looks high. Hair needs some highlights too, I'd suggest a blue (see Batman: TAS or Cyclops in the final Season of the 90s X-Men cartoon).

Actually you'll find that it has been shaded in the anime on some occasions. It never was really shaded in the older better dragonball z episodes but after frieza saga every once in a while you'd notice they spent time shading his hair.
