First Composition

Not going to give a long story, But I've always wanted to try composing, and took a shot at it. I don't know much about music theory, But I can tell you that its in Concert Bb.

Jabunx, I listened to your piece here and its biggest problem is a lack of a focused theme/melody, it seems to be a bunch of chords and notes. It also has a problem with sticking to a single style; it goes from classical to 'western' (read: cowboys) to two jazzy chords at the very end.

Perhaps you can try adding a countermelody (another melody that's not as dominant as the main melody and accompanies it) or adding some chords from a separate instrument to fill in those gaps of silence.

Don't feel discouraged about this, everyone starts at some point. :smile:

It's really random and all over the place. There's no proper theme. Read above, I agree with his points.
