Fireworks & Gradients

Ok, so I can work out how to add gradients to text, but how do I "rotate" these gradients? I have added a linear gradient to some text, but at the moment it goes from left to right; I want it to go top to bottom but can't work out how. This is in Fireworks MX 2004.

I think I understand what you are saying. There should be a L type line that appears in the text. Mess with that and you should have it.

There should be a box connected to a circle that appears when you select the text, using the white(?) cursor, but maybe it's the black one. The circle is where it starts, and the box is where it ends/the direction. Move those around to change it.
