Firefox 3

Well, I just don't like the green Vista-esque bubbles, big or small. I don't even click them, since I know the shortcuts and use FireGestures. Maybe I'll remove them from my interface altogether.....

I'll look into this AeroFox theme. but Aero = Vista-esque = not favourable by me. XP all the way

I just noticed I've been using Firefox 3 occasionally, and... I didn't notice I was using a new version. Haven't noticed it being faster at all. I'm usually pretty oblivious about things like that, though.

For what it's worth, while I prefer IE as a general rule, I don't like IE8's new address bar. It doesn't seem to do anything profoundly different other than the whole highlighting the base domain, but I don't like it when things change colors when I'm not expecting them to.

That's because animated PNGs are that big of a hit- due to lack of support in the major image editors.
wah? there's such thing as animated PNG? why havn't i heard of this before... *wikipedias*

DO NOT DOWNLOAD FIREFOX 3. IF YOU HAVE FIREFOX 3, DOWNGRADE TO VERSION 2

seriously i just realized that firefox 3 is horribly fucked up when it comes to zooming images. if you go to pixeljoint or pixelation (or eventually even rmxp.org hopefully), then you'd see that images don't zoom properly, and are blurred and it horribly messes up the pixels -- which is the whole point of zooming on them to begin with.

i'm personally uninstalling firefox 3 and downgrading back to 2 because of this "feature".

I don't notice anything wonky with the zoom in FF3. But I never zoomed in FF2. If you don't mind, can you post a screenshot of say pixeljoint zoomed in in FF2? I'm just curious to find out what your fuss is about but I'm too lazy to downgrade just to find out.

also. why do you have to put my name in your sig so big. it always catches my attention, unnecessarily. grrrr.

it's not firefox's zoom feature, it's a feature on those websites. if you don't normally go to those sites or aren't a pixel artist, the difference might not affect you. but a LOT of people have a very hard time with this

I never zoom images in Firefox anyway :/

Anyway. I haven't noticed much difference, other than the new button graphics and the cool search bar. But, Gmail loads a hell of a lot faster than it did before, and I don't get the lousy crashing errors when switching tabs while Gmail is open.

I believe the issue being referred to is that Firefox 3 zooms entire page content when you up the text size, rather than just the text itself?  Firefox 2 doesn't provide any zoom feature that I'm aware of.  In any case it's hardly such a huge problem that you have to reject the whole browser.  Try picking up a portable version of firefox 2 for the times when you need to do something that only works in 2.

Get it here:  https://sourceforge.net/project/showfil ... _id=593061

And read more about portable apps here: http://www.portableapps.com

omg omg omg There's no support for Multi-touch lol.

Still, gotta love those icons- Blends right into Aqua. I use Safari more often, so I found and installed a skin to solve that. I still use Safari- It's better and sucks less ram, but doesn't have features like FF, so I still need FF for GoogleDocs. (Google Gears)

In case you didn't already know, Firefox 3 has been released and is much improved over version 2.  They have changed or added over 1,500 things and it runs much faster and smoother.  Firefox is still the safest browser and now alerts you whenever you enter a suspected bad site.  Another great addition is the "Awesome Bar" that seems to read your mind and selects the site you want.  All in all, I think Firefox 3.0 is a great browser and every one should make the switch as soon as possible.

I wouldn't jump the gun yet. One thing I noticed about FireFox3 is the memory has been greatly reduced. One of my biggest issues with v2 was the amount of memory leakage. v3 has been reduced for the most part. I also notice better speed and a more cleaned up bookmark section. All in all, I like the new version. simply downgrading is like saying the future is overrated and the present is the place to be. That being said, I can only hope that as we speak Mozilla is nearly finished digging IE's grave. lol
