Final Fantasy 7 - The real trilogy remade

I'm looking for a dedicated team of hard working people to help out with a re-making of Final Fantasy 7.

The major things I will need people to do are:
-Design scripts
-Design the character appearances (Both in battle and out of battle)
-Be ready to aid me if for some reason one or more of the tasks involved in this proves to be difficult.

I will be doing a re-write of the storyline and assembling the final product.

Before you ask "Why does the storyline need to be re-written?"

Because we're going to have Zack live and be a character in the original and Advent Children, as well as Genesis, and Aerith will also survive.

And if you're wondering "What is the 'real trilogy'", I'm referring to Crisis Core, the original, and Advent Children. The only ones that make much sense/are any good.

Now, before you go saying "But if Zack/Aerith/Genesis/etc... are still alive, its gonna ruin the plot, and it won't make any sense, and whine whine whine" no, just shut it. If you disagree with what I'm doing then leave now.

For those of you interested, some of the specific things I will be needing:
-Battle designs for: Zack, Genesis, Cloud, Aerith, Tifa, Cissnei, and a few other characters to be selected later.
-Map Designs for most of the NPCs from Final Fantasy.
-A script to give both the "Break" and "Wait" bars we all know and love from Final Fantasy 7.
-A script that will allow us to break the HP Limits for bosses and characters alike (As far as I know the HP limit for bosses only goes up to 99999).

The plot so far: (SPOILERS!)

-Cloud recovers from the mako energy addiction fast enough that when Zack is down and almost out he grabs the Buster Sword and kills what little remains of Shinra's army.

-During FF7 they both join AVALANCHE in order to fight back at Soldier and Shinra.

-Aerith is saved by Cloud when Sephiroth attacks her.

-Advent Children will be almost totally re-written; as Cloud will no longer be such an emo bastard or abandon his wife and child. (In fact his wife might not be Tifa any more either).

These are just the major changes; obviously. I will avoid changing the plot around too much, though obviously some of it must be changed. If you loved Final Fantasy and wish that the characters would've lived to fight another day then post. Again, if you think it should be left alone, then go cuddle with it in the corner while we do our thing. Just don't turn this into a flaming war or an argument.

I'm just wondering outside of the story what are you gonna be doing, surely you don't expect people to do everything else for you with you just having the idea? And databasing and eventing don't really count cos people are expected to know them by default, well you have to if you want to make a project yourself.

The part that you mentioned about Cloud saving Aeris from Sephiroth, that's impossible. He's Sephiroth.

And also, what do you mean Tifa won't be Cloud's wife anymore? They were never even married. They were working together in a delivery service and Denzel was adopted, and Marlene is Barret's adopted daughter.

Ok, how is it you say this is a remake dude the plot's different. Are you talkin bout you're retelling the story? Relaunchig? A remake is the whole heart and soul of the game in RM/IGM/GM mode

Dirge of Cerberus was a plague on humanity, so I doubt ANYONE has seen the hidden scene at the end, let alone, the regular ending.

I think that if a remake of VII is being planned, the whole story should be thought about not just the part that was liked.

This isn't a very well thought out "remake" you're doing here... you're tampering with the origional formula waaaaaaaay too much dude! And, at the very least, I wouldn't try to "keep Aeris alive" either because, face it... she died, she's dead, and she wasn't that great of a character in the first place. Sure, I was 11 when I played that game and sure I cried a lil' bit but I got over it because, like I said, she sucks anyways! With or without all her limit breaks, I never really liked her or played her that much, 12 years later I still don't like her that much and would perfer her to stay 'dead'.

Matter of fact, since you're so badly wanting to go through the trouble of all this, why not just make your own game not related to Final Fantasy VII??? I mean, just sayin' it'd be better to use your own characters, ideas and settings than try and tamper with a classic such as FFVII. Even if its a cheap ass rip off similiar to the series, it would be better than re-creating the actual thing itself. Heck, it could suck but nobody would have to sucker punch you for ruining an already established story.

If you can do a remake, and keep it authentic, maybe even throw in some extra quests and missions and easter eggs, then I'd respect you for it, I'd probably even lend you a hand in that case. But your idea of a 'remake' is pretty wacked out and doesn't hardly have anything to do with what the origional FF7 stood for.

Anyways, thats my two cents, I'm outta here...

As soon as I read the thread title, I knew this would turn into a FF7-good-or-bad debate.

My opinion of FF7 aside, I think the concept for this project is interesting. Of course, in order for this to be a success, it's going to have to be done right. You're going to have to be very, very witty with this, my friend. By your first post, I can tell that you already know that a lot of people aren't going to be interested in this, even more that a lot of people will condemn the project, so if you're prepared to work in spite of that, then I commend you.

Just remember that there will have to be a certain amount of a crowd-pleasing aspect to this. You can just make the game to suit your wants and needs, to shape FF7 into what you wanted it to be, but that won't work for the majority of gamers. You're going to have to work through a lot of balancing issues.

Aeries died summoning Holy. Therefore if someone moved her out of the way of Sephiroth's pew pew pew then the spell would not have been cast, therefore nothing would counter Meteor and Gaia would be destroyed. While an annoying plot device for them to have used, removing it renders the rest of the storyline completely odd and so well, you've got a lot of work ahead of you.

On top of that if Zack hadn't died then Cloud wouldn't have took Zack's place - he never would have "been" SOLDIER and would not have ended up in AVALANCHE. Therefore, Sector 5 would have kabloom'd with the AVALANCHE's explosion and so Aeries would have died. In other words, it's Zack or Aeries. If Zack lives, Aeries dies. If Zack dies, then Aeries doesn't die... for a short while.
