Fans new and returning will now embark on an epic adventure, where the race for the crown is only the beginning of your spectacular journey. Five decades have passed since the events of "Fable II," and Albion has matured into an industrial revolution, but the fate of the kingdom is at peril. In "Fable III," you will be called upon to rally and fight alongside your people, ascend to the seat of power, and experience the true meaning of love and loss. The choices and sacrifices you make while fanning the flames of revolution, and then as you rule as King or Queen or Albion, will lead to an ever evolving world of consequences that will be felt across your entire land. This sets the stage for unparalleled action and adventure that offers even more ways to fight and engage than ever before. Throughout your journey, you will encounter a colorful cast of characters that fans have come to expect from the off-beat style and humor in the "Fable" games. After determining whether these characters are your friends or foes, you will either join them or fight against them in explosive combat, alone or with a friend on Xbox LIVE. In your quest to plant the seeds of revolution, seize power and rule over your kingdom, the choices you make will change the world around you, for the greater good or your own personal gain. Who will you become? A rebel without a cause, the tyrant you rebelled against, or the greatest ruler to ever live?

- What's Fable?
A role playing game

- The game's setting/plot (taken from Wikipedia and can have spoils)
Fable takes place in the fictional continent of Albion. Players assume the role of an orphaned boy who realizes his dream of becoming a hero. The choices players make in the game affect the perception and reaction to their Hero by the characters of Albion, and change the Hero's appearance to mirror what good or evil deeds the Hero has performed. In addition to undertaking quests to learn what happened to the Hero's family, players can engage in optional quests and pursuits such as trading, romance, boxing, pub gaming, betting and theft.
Like the first game, Fable II takes place in the land of Albion, about 500 years later in a setting resembling the early modern period. The Heroes' Guild no longer exists; after the defeat of Jack of Blades, Albion entered a period of relative safety and stability during which the increasingly corrupt Heroes were no longer needed. Ultimately the people of Albion revolted against the Guild and destroyed it. Firearms of exotic design now dominate the art of war. Cities such as Bowerstone have now greatly expanded, and the old ideas and religions of medieval Albion have since been ousted by modern ideals of science and philosophy.

There are fewer locations than in the first game, however they have been expanded upon greatly. The islands of Witchwood and Hook Coast, as well as the Northern Waste have been rendered inaccessible. There are also many references to the land of Samarkand in the game, though the player never travels there. At the beginning of the player's childhood, they start out in a Gypsy camp near Bower Lake.

The world in Fable II is fully dynamic, interactive and mostly free roaming with no set quest path to take. Since the game takes place over a hero's lifetime, many things can change; Molyneux gave an example of a trade camp that the player could either help or destroy. Trading in such camps would increase their profit, resulting in a small town growing around them.

Additionally, every accessible property (those that can be entered by the player) in the world can be purchased (except for the Tattered Spire), and ownership of unique buildings can unlock further quests. In addition to purchasing and renting homes, businesses and stalls are now available for purchase. These businesses produce income for the player every 5 minutes, depending on the quality of the business, the economy level of the town, and the opinion of the shop owner for the player (A shopkeeper with a high opinion will work harder), and the rent or goods prices set by the player; this happens even while the Xbox 360 is turned off. Rent is also accumulated every 5 minutes. Also, if the player visits his own shops, the quality of their goods will improve, and improve the quality of the store. Players are able to furnish the houses with furniture and other items available for sale. In addition, titles will be awarded for buying property; if one were to buy every building and piece of land in a town he/she may become the mayor of that town; owning more land leads to higher titles such as king/queen, and eventually Emperor of the entire land of Albion. Players can become more Pure by setting prices and rent low, or more Corrupt by increasing them.

The environment in Fable II features trees with branches and leaves that are individually animated according to their own physics, each tree having roughly 120,000 leaves. There are also around 15 million poppies in Albion.
Fable III is set approximately 50-60 years after the events of Fable II on the continent of Albion where the Fable series is set. The old monarch, the Hero of Fable II, has died and left the Kingdom of Albion to Logan, the player's older brother.

Some characters allude to how Logan has "Changed" in the last four years, and is excessively tyrannical now. After a traumatic event that Logan forces upon the player, they escape Logan's castle along with their mentor, Sir Walter Beck and their servant, Jasper. They then start to gather allies to aid in a revolution against Logan. The allies they gain include the "Dwellers," a nomadic community that lives in the mountains; Major Swift, a Royal Army officer in command of a remote fort; Page, the leader of the "Bowerstone Resistance"; and Kalin, the leader of Aurora, a desert land across the ocean. When attempting to gain the support of Kalin, the hero learns that a creature called the "Crawler," the forces of which have already devastated Aurora, intends to exterminate all life in the Kingdom of Albion. It is revealed that Logan's reason for treating his people so harshly is to raise money for an army to defend against the Crawler.

The player then leads a revolution and becomes the King, at which point the player is given the choice to keep the promises made to those who aided in the revolution at great expense to the treasury, or betray those promises in order to raise money for the defense of Albion. The player can also utilize the treasury money for personal purposes, or use personal money in the treasury.

If the player chooses to be a "good" ruler, the treasury will be vastly drained and the only way the player can offset this is by transferring several million gold from their personal funds to the treasury. With 6,500,000 gold in the treasury at the time of the crawler attack, the player will be able to fully fund an army that can successfully defend the entire kingdom.

With no money in the treasury and thus no army to defend Albion, the civilian casualties inflicted by the Crawler's attack amount to 6,500,000. If this happens, the world will be largely absent of civilians upon completion of the main quest. If the player passes lots of time by sleeping, civilians will start to return, but they will react hostilely to the monarch's presence, regardless of whether they previously acted as a benevolent or evil ruler.

- Why a new tread?
Because, it being a RPG, people might need help obtaining achievements (online), have trouble completing quests or just want to leave there opinion

If you want in this list post, and i will add ;)

PS:
If the quality of the movie's suck, please say it also..
I will get on that on the double ;D

Listen, while I like what idea you are going for, you need to add more information about what fable is and whatnot. Dont make a thread saying "what do you like about Fable 3," because everyone doesnt know what Fable 3 is. I strongly recommend you add more information.

I haven't been paying much attention to this one because I did not like Fable II at all.
Never played Fable I but if it was anything like the 2nd one I never will.
I didin't like Fable II mostly because I expected so much more, I thought I would be playing an epic RPG with endless posibillities only to find out that the npc's in the game didin't even have dialogue, the battlesystem was easy as pie and the story was way too short.
So unless the new one has been changed drammaticly I won't be buying this.

But that's just my opinion ofcourse...

The battle system is still the same.. A little tweaked out, but mostly the same.

NPC's are still dialogue-less.. Though it is harder to get their affection

The story is longer, by far.. Fable 2 took me 15 hours (main story-line)...
Still working on Fable 3 (now 10 hours, but will update my total time)

Verdict: You shouldn't be buyin this..
It's not your kind of game.

Extra: If they combined the NPC-setting and battle grid from Dragon Age: Origins
and the world setting's (buyin houses & rulin) from Fable 3, wouldn't that be epic?

Yeah that's pretty much what I thought...

This would be awesome, though I can live with the battle system the game uses now as long as they make the battles more difficult. (And don't make the main character invincible :P)
Ah well, maybe the next one will suit my needs ~

I've been playing it a little offline coop with a friend, and I expected it to be more coop oriented... While coop is much better than fable 2 system, it still has many flaws, specially that ugly in play menu system (It's even ugly for single player...). Why haven't they made a splitscreen menu? Why?... I think the multiplayer system was more oriented for LIVE, but I don't use live...

And since fable 2, I'm missing fable 1 magic skills system, it was much better, with a much greater variety of skills that could be easily switched in game. And it was also nicer to have a health and mana bar.

"Dragon Age: Origins dialogs and story telling" + "Fable 3 npc interaction, houses, etc" + "Fallout/Oblivion world and exploration" + "Half life scripted events" + "Any nice battle system"(dragon age, diablo or oblivion with a better magic system (magics in oblivion simple suck)) = 11/10 points game.

I haven't tested the multiplayer yet, but i've read it's indeed an improved version of Fable 2
This meaning it's probably an LIVE experiance.. Being that you than both have a full screen...
It's a shame, but even if the've improved on so many levels, flaws will always be found.
Nothing can be perfect ;D

I don't find it a big miss. It's getting a bit outdated.. Sure it's on of the things that makes or breaks the RPG, but they tried to innovate, so it's a good try..
Not great, good.

Indeed... No multiplayer needed.. However, if they could tweak it like one of the many MMO's...
12/10 ;D

gonna get it at the end of the week! it looks fun. I've always liked the Fable games, they're good unpretentious fun. not groundbreaking or whatever, but any game that lets me make multiple prostitutes fall in love with me by belchin' at 'em, marry 'em, and move them all to the same city street is okay by me.

also I heard Reaver was like, the new "guide" person like the guildmaster/Theresa? if that's true that's a good reason to buy it immediately. dude's awesome.

I've been playing Fable 3 with Star. The Co-op is much better now that both of us can change and be who we want to be instead of the second player being some henchman. We are playing while Star's player 1 and is the prince, so I haven't done the princess version of anything yet. My favorite thing is changing my appearance and hair. I hope to find a new town soon and find a new hairstyle and stuff. Maybe I'm just too feminine. :)

i love it all!!!!!!!!! that game is the reason i bust my ass in school, so hopefully when i get my degree i can try to get a job at lionhead(yes i know the odds, but im still gonna try!!!!!)

@Moxie:
Reaver? It's still Theresa...

@Flower:
Whe're you now? If your still in Brightwall.. Do some quests...
Bowerstone is fairly quickly availible ;D
*im not past Bowerstone yet, so can't give info on that ;D
been to busy tryin to buy all the houses/shops and doing the ridiculus side-quests..

@Plague
Than maybe we will be playin a game with YOUR name on it |D
Keep up the good work ;D

Extra:
Did you know the butler of Reaver is done by Jonathan Ross from Nevermind the Buzzcocks ;D

Extra2:
Im stuck at a mission....
Maybe ya'll can help :)
When you enter the "EVIL" temple again for the third time, he asks you to get the lever..
Allmost at the end of the trial i'm stuck at the double stairs..
ie. can't get on the second pair...

Any help?

As a massive fan of the first one, I had great hopes for this one as well. Not only did Fable 3 meet my expectations, but it surpassed them as well. It's completely outstanding game. I enjoyed lot with my friends.
