Extraction Issues

I've sent a friend my game, and he says he can't extract the game file. He says he gets an error, which simply says "Extraction Error". He says he's tryed it a couple of times and it still hasn't worked. He's on Windows Vista, which may be a problem.

Possibly a compiling error. I doubt it's solely Vista.

Are you use "Make Game Disk" or zip/rar compression methods? Try zipping if you haven't. Be sure to include RTP setup if he lacks the software.

Also, if you're encrypting, re-compile without encryption then do a test extraction and file check.

I'm using "Make Game Disk" Method, and I've sent him an encrypted version. Anyone else I've spoken to doesn't seem to have troubles extracing it, so I don't think it's a compiling error.

The obvious solution would be to not encrypt the game, not make a game disk and simply zip the project. Then, send your friend the project again.
