Explorer.exe

Everytime I open a folder, eg. Program Files, It automatically shuts down without warning. It happens also when I open my documents, and anything thats a folder. I tried sfc /scannow, it told me I had some corrupted files but was unable to repair them, any idea how I can repair them?

If explorer.exe or a DLL loaded by it is the source of your problem, try rebooting.  Right after the BIOS splash screen hold down F8 until the windows boot menu pops up, and from there find "Safe mode with command prompt" and run sfc from there.  If that doesn't work or you've already tried it post again and I'll get you instructions on how to replace each of those files individually using the recovery console on a windows 2000/xp disc; you'll need to have a list of the corrupted files and a disc on hand for that.

I have done the sfc /scannow, which scans all the system files that are connected with explorer.exe and it told me I have corrupted files. But when I open up the cbs.log on a text document it shows no corrupted files on the document which doesn't make sense, so I'm going to do it again and I'll let you know what happens.
