Experimentation suggestions

im working on a project for myself and close friends at the moment im only in the testing stages and have yet to do most, in fact nearly all of the art work on it. Basicaly i am trying to use the mnetplay codes for an MMORPG, the pvp in the mnetplay is kinda complicated and im hoping to design a system based on simple character interaction,

i would hope to be able to use events contacting players to add/subtract health and variable and switches for player to control these events, essentialy the events are the weapons, this is how i made they system work for out of battle combat for PVE in previous projects, my only problem seems to be that the severs only track players and not events.

events don't act one way for one player and appear to have the same result to another instead each player sees his own set of events, so i belive i need a way for the server to track the events or to add an aspect to the player to allow your playable character to act like an event, I.E have a trigger and command list so if another players walks up and hit enter you see and animation and loose health based on the other players level or something.

Personaly i have little to no scripting skills so any advice or comments on this subject would be most apreciated.

Sadly I have nothing positive to tell you charnak. Disclaimer: I haven't looked at the netplay script. So I'm assuming if the events were left out it was because the amount of information that would need to be sent would be too much strain on the server and/or the application. Every time an event is activated it would have to walk through the event commands and see what information needs to be sent to which person(s). Finally my suggestions for you are as follows. Redesign your system or find a way to get around the current limitations of netplay. If it is truly a must have maybe you should offer to pay someone or create a topic in the 'Script Requests' section.

as for the topic, yeah the only thing i dont understand is the server program has a list of everything it tracks and it reads out event movements but for some reason client side the events instance out and thus only effect the player who's machine they are running on,

your prolly right ima have to request a script that can allow players to wap each other up side the head thanx

ima leave this here in case any one else has any suggestions  :cool:
