Exp point spending system

So I am about 50% done but then I run into a problem, where excactly is the exp stuff located, cause I want to remove the whoole leveling system if possible.(i.e.Removing @exp_list) I can't seem to find it tho.

Really, all you need to do is remove the texts that draw the 'experience' and 'levels' in the Menu Status and related windows, just do a bit of a search through the systems and see how 'commenting out' those lines work out. Oh, and the bit that shows how much experience you get in battle.

After that, just set up the enemies to 'NOT' have any experience points to award.

How do you plan on increasing abilities?

ParaDog wrote a system known as the 'After Battle Status Increase' system that I translated that increases stats (hp/str/dex,etc) after battles based on your characters actions and whether the monsters posed enough of a challenge. Like Final Fantasy Tactics, so I heard.

Meanwhile, I have seen a couple other systems that give points when people level up to give bonus points... In that case (I guess) you would still have to include experience points for your enemies, but you don't have to let the player see 'em. Just flatten out the hero's stats in the RMXP database so they have to actively raise them with a pop-up window to apply points to their own stats. Kinda like Diablo.

I'm not sure if this is actually possible but...
You could try having the enemy give a variable number when it is defeated, and then use the variable after the battle to increase the stats. If it is possible, I was also wondering how to do this.

This is so ironic. My brother wanted me to make him something like this using my very, very, limited Ruby skills. Unbelievably, I did it.

Replace your Window_BattleResult Code with this:
Code:
#==============================================================================
# ** Window_BattleResult
#------------------------------------------------------------------------------
# This window displays amount of gold and EXP acquired at the end of a battle.
#==============================================================================

class Window_BattleResult < Window_Base
  #--------------------------------------------------------------------------
  # * Object Initialization
  #     exp       : EXP
  # gold : amount of gold
  #     treasures : treasures
  #--------------------------------------------------------------------------
  def initialize(ap_gained, gold, treasures)
    @ap_gained = ap_gained
    @gold = gold
    @treasures = treasures
    super(160, 0, 320, @treasures.size * 32 + 64)
    self.contents = Bitmap.new(width - 32, height - 32)
    self.y = 160 - height / 2
    self.back_opacity = 160
    self.visible = false
    refresh
  end
  #--------------------------------------------------------------------------
  # * Refresh
  #--------------------------------------------------------------------------
  def refresh
    self.contents.clear
    x = 4
    self.contents.font.color = normal_color
    cx = contents.text_size(@ap_gained.to_s).width
    self.contents.draw_text(x, 0, cx, 32, @ap_gained.to_s)
    x += cx + 4
    self.contents.font.color = system_color
    cx = contents.text_size("AP").width
    self.contents.draw_text(x, 0, 64, 32, "AP")
    x += cx + 16
    self.contents.font.color = normal_color
    cx = contents.text_size(@gold.to_s).width
    self.contents.draw_text(x, 0, cx, 32, @gold.to_s)
    x += cx + 4
    self.contents.font.color = system_color
    self.contents.draw_text(x, 0, 128, 32, $data_system.words.gold)
    y = 32

And, if you want, since this is how my brother wanted it, he replaced the Steps window, the most utterly useless thing ever, (unless you used some kind of pedometer trading event in your game) so that it shows how much Exp, or in this case AP, instead of your steps. Here it is:
Code:
#==============================================================================
# ** Window_Steps
#------------------------------------------------------------------------------
# This window displays step count on the menu screen.
#==============================================================================

class Window_Steps < Window_Base
  #--------------------------------------------------------------------------
  # * Object Initialization
  #--------------------------------------------------------------------------
  def initialize
    super(0, 0, 160, 96)
    self.contents = Bitmap.new(width - 32, height - 32)
    refresh
  end
  #--------------------------------------------------------------------------
  # * Refresh
  #--------------------------------------------------------------------------
  def refresh
    self.contents.clear
    self.contents.font.color = system_color
    self.contents.draw_text(4, 0, 120, 32, "AP")
    self.contents.font.color = normal_color
    self.contents.draw_text(4, 32, 120, 32, $game_variables[1].to_s, 2)
  end
end

In order for this to work however, you need to have your first variable be the one that stores the EXP.

By the way, this only stores the AP, you have to either script or code an event to trade in the EXP.

And I still can't believe I could do this.

thanks but I I just meant altering the exp list which is locatd in game_Actor, and to make the Ap window, you wouldn't have to replace the steps window, just post it above main, and make the correct edits to Scene_Menu
