exclusive ranges

How can I do something like this:

@a = 1..10 #But I want to exclude 'number five'(5) for example.

It may require more work on your part, but that is the only way I can think of atm to do this. Hope this helps. Peace!

To exclude 10 use this:

a = 1...10

And I'm kinda sure there's no way to make a range like it, you should use an array.

(1..10).to_a - [5]

there is no way to exclude a number from a range you can use my code above (convert the range to an array and remove elements from the other array) or when iterating over the range just skip the numbers you don't want for example

(1..10).each do |num|
  next if num == 5
  #code
end
