Evolution: Script or Common Event Request

Problem 1:
I have a game where you get an egg then at a random 5 to 6 thousand steps the egg hatches. I am using a common event conditional branch to notify the player, but it won't work. I walk around and I have a event to tell me what the "Secret" number is then I get to that number and the message doesn't appear and nothing happens.
Problem 2:
After the egg hatches I want it to level up to a certain level and then evolve into a stronger form and then evolve again and again until it's 5th or 6th transformation. I don't know how to get this to work without lagging my game down. Also I cannot figure out how to make a scene for the whole evolution process to visually take place. I want it to show up right next to or on the status screen, but I use LeGaCy's CMS so I don't know what I am going to do.

Please help. I have looked all over the net and am at a loss. I have tried on other parts of the forums to see if anyone has seen anything like it and they haven't except the pokemon evolution script that I can't seem to pick apart enough to use for my simple process. I just wanted you all to know that asking for help was my last resort. Any help is appreciated.

Wrogn fourm. But to Notify i think its best to use common events. And for the second the same thing. But both of them have to be parral  And both of their switches have to be on. ( I reccomond dont use the same switch for both common events ) Err sorry i'm Kinda busy so i cant show you screens. + I'm tried sorry if its sloppy but yea it works... Oh yea make the switches go on in game when its time to do it.

Darn it I knew that I was in the wrong forum. First I would like to apologize for that. Then I want to say thank you. I am trying Common Events, but they don't seem to work. I use the event to turn them on and have them on parallel. I will post some code to show my mistake. Please don't forget that this post will probably move so any help please direct. Sorry for the inconvenience. And Thank you Ryanna.

You don't have to use events to turn them on, you just need a switch to turn on and activate the parallel process.  Depending on how you have the common events, I may know why you're having the problem.  When the player transfers to another map, all parallel process common events start over.  It's a problem I ran into when I created a time system with events.

I haven't left the screen yet, so that shouldn't be a problem until later. >.> But as for right now I need to go work on it to get a better understanding of common events becasue the tut's here on them kinda suck. If I figure everything out then I will write a compilation of the current tut's and my own to make a full "Common Events: Regular, Auto, and Parallel utilization" tut that'll knock some socks. Thanks for all of the feedback. Take care all. I'll be back either later tonight or tomorrow.

Thank you everyone. I have figured it all out with many trial and errors. Basically I just used two parallell process common events to wait til a variable = level and then the evolution happens. I wish I would have known more about common events before. I wouldn't have had to write this post. Thank you.
