Eternal Grace Episode 1

i tried again to run it as administrator, didn't work. So i deleted it and reinstalled it by clicking on run as admin instead over the regular "open". Now the trial works if i also run the game itself as admin. Anyway, it's not very user friendly.

I'll be adding some feedback on the game here:

* love the music

* the extensive tutorial to learn how to move wasn't needed. And there's a function to watch the turorial again? Jeez!

* nice character art, tileset looks pretty good.

* An all cute-female-crew. I'd like to have one lol. But it's a bit weird still, reminds me of bad animés.

* Meteors eh? Always reminds me of certain rpg's.

* Intresting point in the story to find out why the captain and his crew need that assassin.

* I don't like the rtp sound effects too much. All the other Sound effect's are great though.

* The battle system is promising so far; but i look forward to how you use it for boss battles and the likes.

* The main menu looks awesome! Good job!

@All who try our game:
Thank you very much for all of your opinion, and about the administrator mode, we'll try to discuss it deeper with our team, since the one with 64 bit computer in our team doesn't need to run as administrator to run the installer and the game. FYI: he used Windows 7 Home Premium without any RPG Maker XP installed.

@Gravija:
Thank you, your opinion encourage us very much.
-We are really glad that you like the music, battle system, menu and artworks we had.
-All cute female crew has their own story why did the follow Lao, and why Lao recruited them as crew. We'll make sure they'll not turn into bad anime like you think before, heheh.
-We use meteor, but along the story you'll know why meteor, hehe...
-you'll look the Boss Battle and how the battle system works for every boss battle occurs when you have the activation key.

@All:
We need your further comments about our first game, we hope we can fulfill your expectation.

Thanks...

Do you play the 32 bit version, 64 bit version, or both?

Thanks...

Sorry for the late reply; was gone this weekend. I tried both and get the same error for both. Not sure if both link to the same thing or what...

Just wanted to say really quick that it worked! I'll leave a full review when I finish the demo.

Though, one thing you'll definitely want to look into given one has to pay for the full version... script editing. There is a lot of bad English from what I've played. I could even help out a little on that sometime if you need any editors (it helps me further my editing skills really). Not to be rude of course! I just feel this is a very important area for the English speaking audience. Especially when money is involved.

Also, I was curious, who did the art for the menu system? I am looking for help on redesigning my own menu (mainly replacing a lot of things with pictures). So I have to ask, hehe.

Again, I'll give a full review later!

@Zankoku no Yami:

Thank you very much, we are Indonesian people, so we apologize for our bad English. May be it's a very good idea if there's someone who can edit the English there.

The people who did the art and menu system interface design is an CG artist named Lazcht and the script programmer named Reijubv. You can search them via google or deviant art.

I hope our game can fulfill your expectation,

Thanks...

No need to apologize for it. English is hard even for native speakers, haha. If you need any help with edits, like I said, I can always volunteer for that. It helps me with my own editing skills. And I am a pretty decent writer, so if anything, I'd be able to help keep the English translation more clear. So hit me up sometime if you need anything (and if you do, know I am willing to work with you since many people do not want to go handing out their unencrypted game. So giving me text or word files with the dialogue, or if you have other ideas for passing it over, that works too).

Cool. I will have to check them out sometime~

And again, I'll be back with a full post! I just don't have a lot of time right now *dies* so I am doing a little here and there. But do know, so far, I find it quite enjoyable. It has a nice feel to it. But I'll save the rest for the full review. I just wanted to at least let you know that I am enjoying it.

Oh, and a quick question; how did you do the battle transition? Where all the squares appear and break away? I am just wondering if that was a custom script or something? Because I was trying to figure out a way to do something like that myself (in my case, I was actually going to have the screen break and then the glass pieces fall down or something).

@jasprelao

This looks great! I'm downloading it now. I'm quite excited to see it :thumb:

EDIT: I played the trial, it was great fun. I liked the menus and the systems. Fantastic.

But a bug report - when I tried to fight the giant mushroom, it started owning me because you teleported the player into the water, he couldn't move.

So I've played it up to the part where they head out to the city to deliver the top secret message. I have a short attention span so I'll break for now, but I must say that you've done a pretty decent job with this. I usually quit rm games within 5 mins, but I stuck around for this one. Idk it may be the non-rtp graphics, or the hexabattle thing (which I love), actually I think I've played to much hexabattle. Anyway I like the characters so far. (Frazh or Grazh or Brazh), whatever his name is with the wolverine/edward elric hand. I like the girl who forgets everything and takes notes like the Anya from Code Geass, she's pretty funny. The battle system is what I like most about the game. I have had a chance to use the might's yet but what I've played so far is great. Hopefully the story will be as good as the presentation, and I have off from work tomorrow so I guess I'll find out.
Also, though I am most likely gonna kick out the 5$ for the activation code, I was wondering if it was a one time fee or would i pay for each chapter?

Great Game so far.

This is a very high quality RPG Maker game, the only thing holding it back is that it still feels like an RPG Maker game.

When I've played a bit more I'll give an in-depth opinion.

EDIT:
Okay I played to the end of the trial, the dialogue is lengthy and I'd rather have it be served in smaller chunks, the menu system is beautiful, the battle system is simple and easy to understand (In a very good way) and there is a bug with the option screen, if you set auto run to On it will turn itself off after every battle, the hexa card game is very good, reminds me of tetra master only the stats are easy to understand.

Wasn't really enough of the trial to get a full understanding of the game, when it ended it does tempt one into buying the full game, but for me it felt too much like other RPG Maker games so I won't be buying this.

I think the lengthy dialogue is an issue with most RPG maker games, most people have a great idea for story but not a great idea for game and ends up being a novel, I've seen worse cases of lengthy dialogue so this game is near the good end of the scale, it could be that I can't really stand lengthy back story being panned out to me, I think if we encounter the factions described and then get an explanation of who they are would be better than encounter their name then get an explanation of who they are without meeting them.
