Enemy Battlers

:D Hey everyone -

I've been recruited to draw concept designs for random fantasy-type creatures for a video game. I've posted the concept sheets on DA, with intentions for them to be modeled into 3D, but I thought I might as well post them here also for anybody who may need random enemy battlers that haven't already been used so many times.

The only criteria is that the setting is mideval.. so here's what I have so far:

Fyerox: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v237/ ... /wolf2.png[/IMG]

This ISN'T another request topic, but if you have any suggestions for creatures that I could draw for both this guy's game AND something that could be potentially useful for you, leave them here, because I'm lacking in teh inspiration lately.

Hope this helps ^_^

Oh, Hailey T, awsome.
Some cool monsters to have in a fantasy game, maybe a snake with 2 heads, a scorpion, maybe putting a wolf, a cyclope, who knows some random designed monster made of ice, a cool looking bird, maybe a goblin, orc, elf... And some more, any enemy is cool ^^

Well ideas hm? Well, problem is usually draw them out myself, so that would leave out the oppurtunity to actually design something yourself. And thus losing the whole point in paying you for the concept art. I can, however, describe some things that might be interesting to work with;

I tend to use insect elements in monsters, a relatively easy one would be the grasshopper, because of the jumping legs, little spikes on his legs, the usual jaws, and wings. http://wings.avkids.com/Book/Animals/Images/grasshopper.gif
To "monsterize" it, you can change the 3 main body parts; the head, thoraz, and abdomen. Using those as a base, you can change the other bodyparts a little, add some, etc. and you'll have a neat little monster. Or an insanely large one.
Another option is to combine the insect with a human, as you may be aware of sirens and mermaids, combining a human with an insect is much scarier. For this we'll use the following;

You see, you do not need to use a human's face, nor arms, nor legs. A torso in fact, would do, or even an antanomy similiar to a human's. For example, we take the horn, and but it on a human face, in a way that it points forward, it'll cover the nose, and will force the eyes to change position. The body can be wrapped in a "shell" hiding what's beneath, en what would be under it would be things like wings, and of course lot's of pointy objects.
Lastly, we have the combining insect with each other. In contradiction to the mermaid and the siren, we have the griffin and manticore. You can do the same with insects. If you figured out the other 2 options you won't be needing an explanation here :)
