E.M.P.I.R.E. (Slightly Revised Version)

At first, E.M.P.I.R.E. was just a small organization known as Electric in the city of Megaron in the northern Mainland, which conducted experiiments for new kinds of energy sources. Soon, it had created many labor saving devices, which helped the growth of the city. Realizing that Electric was of use to him, he gave it all the resources it needed to conduct experiments. The city of Megaron was in a time of prosperity, all was peaceful. That was, until the royal heir took the throne. Believing rumors that neighboring cities were plotting against them and finding Electric's studies nothing more than trivial, he order Electric to instead begin creating war weapons, to aid and fortify the city. Electric began the research, and the results were unbelievable. Soon, Electric rose to power that rivaled even the king's, and by the time he could call them off, Electric had taken control. They could build a modernized utopia. So with their war weapons, and a little help from the royal treasury, they conquered the surrounding cities. Soon, the only other civilization was the southern city of Paleglow, and a small rebellion against Megaron and Electric, now known as E.M.P.I.R.E.

on the third line, you say " Realizing that Electric was of use to him, he gave it all the resources it needed to conduct experiments. "  Whose him? and where does it say who?

and  E.M.P.I.R.E is the same as "Electric" ? or dose 'Paleglow' and Electric = E.M.P.I.R.E, and if thats the case , why would 'Electric' rebel? there makeing money right? (IE oil companys)

1. Careless mistake; fixed.
2. Yes, Electric took over and changed its name to E.M.P.I.R.E.
3. Electric took over to create a modernized utopia. (I know that sounds ridiculous, but many of the authorities did have reasons of their own, and that was just the general idea they went with.)
Thanks for the interest, Megalith, and for pointing out that typo.

Hey guys. I wasn't able to work on this recently due to being an another location, but I just thought I'd let you all know that I'm getting back to work and that this isn't dead yet. ;) So far, Part 2 is finished about 50%.
C&C welcome, as always.
(And yes, I plan on releasing Part 2 before going back and improving on the first one)

This is Rey_J, KRoP's PCP partner, which is no secret. Hahaha.

I just tried the demo, and it's quite impressive. I pay attention to smallish details, but this can definitely be helpful.

Warning--spoilers contain spoilers!
--The pink-haired girl (Ylva, I think) is not half cat! Is she? I'm pretty sure she's not. Either way, her role reminds me of Amy from Sonic.
--When leaving the house right by the crops (Get it, crops? KRoP?), Mick says something that begins with some code with brackets ([, ]).
--After beating the Lance dude, the hole from which Crimson Eagle appeared leads nowhere/does nothing.
--If you leave the map after the battle, the dungeon music which was the default for the town still persists, though I'm pretty sure it was supposed to stay peaceful.
--The sunset glow effect should probably appear in 0 frames of wait, don't you think?

--When Opvin Lance appeared right before you battled him, I did not see Opvin Lance. I'm pretty sure he wasn't there, but my view might've been just blocked. :shades:
--If you're making a change (in music or variables for scene-changing graphics) that goes with Erase/Show Screen commands, make changes before you Show Screen--there were 2 Micks at once!
--The group of villains said that they used some "thing" to make a flash in order to invade the castle. What was this "thing"? Was it visible? I was baffled.

--In the 2nd town, inside the big house in the upper-left corner, there was a garden. I know you were using basically all of the sample maps that came with the VX download, but was that garden really supposed to stay there? Like, did you intend that...?
--At the ruins' exterior (and also later on in the volcano), there was a shadow along the top border no doubt missing.

Crimson Eagle: "The shadow magically ends before the cliff does!"

--This is actually just an idea, but why don't you change Project Doomsday's enemy color (hue) when he's in Overload mode? Just an idea I had, based upon other games where something's about to explode...
--After leaving Mt. Horrid's summit, the crackling fire sound persists while you're in the Inn and while you're listening to the king's speech.
--Again with the Erase/Show Screen thing. The castle music plays for a second before being upstaged by heroic welcoming music.

Overall, an awesome, very witty game. Watch out for those shadows, man...

EDIT: Wait... what the--!? Just realized KRoP was banned...
EDIT2: That was a temp-ban, he's back now.

Thankyou for the critique, Rey_J. I'll try my best to respond and take a look at your project as soon as soon as I get some time. ;)

Eheh... I haven't progressed a tiny bit in my project... still trying to think what I can do... working on something else right now... but I'm glad you like it, I'm attentive. And I like doing fun (yet meaningless in the grand scheme of things) things and getting... appreciated and... anyway, yeah, um, yeah.

Meh, it looked like it to me from the charset. But I can remove it, if you like.
--When leaving the house right by the crops (Get it, crops? KRoP?), Mick says something that begins with some code with brackets ([, ]).
Oops, typo. Fixed now.
--After beating the Lance dude, the hole from which Crimson Eagle appeared leads nowhere/does nothing.
Elaborate who Lance dude is, please.
--If you leave the map after the battle, the dungeon music which was the default for the town still persists, though I'm pretty sure it was supposed to stay peaceful.
Fixed.

Eh, not that big a deal. Besides, sudden transitions that big on the screen hurt my eyes.
--When Opvin Lance appeared right before you battled him, I did not see Opvin Lance. I'm pretty sure he wasn't there, but my view might've been just blocked.
The bug has been noted, but I can't seem to find the problem. Thanks for pointing it out, though.
--If you're making a change (in music or variables for scene-changing graphics) that goes with Erase/Show Screen commands, make changes before you Show Screen--there were 2 Micks at once!
D'oh. Fixed.
--The group of villains said that they used some "thing" to make a flash in order to invade the castle. What was this "thing"? Was it visible? I was baffled.
Project Doomsday, he was standing next to Dragoon.
--In the 2nd town, inside the big house in the upper-left corner, there was a garden. I know you were using basically all of the sample maps that came with the VX download, but was that garden really supposed to stay there? Like, did you intend that...?
I intended it, yes, but I'll remove it now if it bothers you.
--At the ruins' exterior (and also later on in the volcano), there was a shadow along the top border no doubt missing.

Crimson Eagle: "The shadow magically ends before the cliff does!"
Blame the Auto Shadow.
--This is actually just an idea, but why don't you change Project Doomsday's enemy color (hue) when he's in Overload mode? Just an idea I had, based upon other games where something's about to explode...
Okay. I just thought it would be a bit wierd considering the character graphic can't change, another missing feature from XP.
--After leaving Mt. Horrid's summit, the crackling fire sound persists while you're in the Inn and while you're listening to the king's speech.
Fixed.

--Again with the Erase/Show Screen thing. The castle music plays for a second before being upstaged by heroic welcoming music.
Auto Change BGM won't allow that.
UPDATE:
I'll upload a tonight/tommorow (probably tommorow, my computer is pretty slow) with the bugs fixed soon. It'll also have:
  • Shortened Dialouge for the first battle
  • Fixing some of the spelling mistakes, most notably "your", though it's always helpful if you can point any typos out.

I'd also like to note all interested in E.M.P.I.R.E. that I haven't been working on this much for a while as well as for some time in the future, due to another project at work too early in development even for a Concept Development thread. I'll get back to work on this eventually, and I'll still be happy to hear C & C or PCPC&C.

The Lance dude I was talking about=the one you fight in the village alongside Crimson Eagle...or was it before he appeared? Hm.

Also...
Garden is fine! Just wondering. Sheesh.
Autoshadow is my enemy. I mean use the TileB shadow, hehe...
You don't want Auto Change BGM, you want Play BGM--before screen transitioning. If desired, you can change that for all the times you transfer onto the castle map from outside! Of course, that's more work...
