Dragon Sprite (W.I.P) C&C needed (PA)

Okay, so the main character of my game is... a dragon. And since all the dragons from the RTP have an -evil- face, I decided to make my own dragon.. He is based on the 'Gwee' from Gaia Online (sorry, I don't have a picture of Gwee right now..).


Edit: Deleted the old animation.. And I'm not posting the charset anymore.. :/ I hope that'll stop people from stealing it..

His tail still needs movement, and I'm not sure if the flying animation is okay..
So, yeah.. I need critiques, so I can make it looks better.

That's really cute! The face could use a bit more contrast in the shading, but it's looking good.

The only that looks really off is the wings in the animation. They look like they're moving up and down, when they should look like they're flapping back toward its body. Try looking at some clips of butterflies for a reference. Here's one I found really quick:

See what I mean? (I don't think I'm explaining this well, meh.) I'm sure there's better clips out there that show it better, but that's the general idea.

Aw, how cute.  It really looks like a Gwee.

I'd make the wing animation more pronounced.  If it wasn't bobbing up and down, I probably wouldn't have been able to really tell it was moving at all (my eyesight is shitty though).

The wings are jittery. As the body falls the wings should go up. As the body goes up the wings go down since the wings are pushing the body up.  It could use a flapping motion too, it looks like the wings only move up and down it's back.
It looks awesome btw, have you started a side-view yet?

So I showed this sprite for the rest of my team and they didn't liked the wings. (They would'nt fit with the rest of our dragons..) And they told me to used the RTP-Bat wings. Well, here it is with different wings..

Again, his tail still needs movement, I'll probably work on that tomorrow. (I won't start the side-view until I'm satisfied with the front-view.. )

Well, some guy at another forum stole my sprite and claimed as his own, so now I'll only show the animations.. I hope that'll stop him.. :/

Anyways, I'm almost finished with the side-view.. For some weird reason, I can't animate his tail without making it look kinda.. fake. x.x

I think that if you do animate the tail, don't move it much. A few pixels at most, likely.

What kinda battle system would suit playing as a dragon though? An ABS? I remember I started working on an RPG where you played as a dragon and it used an ABS. Except my dragon's sprite wasn't as cute. X3

Oh by the way, aside all the gushing about cuteness, I do think you should give the tail a slight sway, it does look a little stiff right now.
