Dragon Ball: The Movie

I saw this just to see how bad it was. It was genuinely one of those movies you want to see in the theatres to say you saw it in them, nothing more. The acting was horrible. The special effects don't even match the anime at all. They screwed up the monkey demon transformation horribly, in the anime and manga he was huge, he was like a few inches shy of being the next Big Foot. They also made Piccolo look like a taller, uglier Yoda. They could have put so much potential in this movie.

Since when does the Kamehameha require you to do 16 different movements?

Absolute trash.

The only thing that came out of this movie good was the actor who played Chi-Chi, and even that they almost messed up. It was more of a comedy than an action movie, cause I was laughing at almost every scene whether it was intended to be funny or not.

Actually if you watch a lot of the old anime (especially the earlier sagas) Goku did a lot more movement when preparing to fire a Kamehameha, it was only later on that it became a instant attack.

I actually enjoyed this movie, it was as people have said so bad you have to like it. Much like Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat, the effects in my opinion where top notch (I was watching on a very bad recording aswell). I hope that the future movies they make are just as good/better and I'll keep watching.

The most movement he did was a swirling of the hands, in the film he has to do a sequence of extra movements before doing the swirl and charge, kinda fails.

Goku's character fails, no krillin, no green hair bulma I had to force myself to watch it. I just have to see it in the cinemas now so I can complain with pride.

if bulma had bluegreen hair, it would have looked stupid as hell.

Oh so true. Someone mentioned Krillin earlier. He was not in the Dragonball series until later. Along with a lot of other characters.

I was kinda excited first, then I sasw the trailer. I want to see this just so I can mock it.

Btw, Penguin, your avatar is AWSOME (break dancing Vegeta ftw!!!!)!!!!!!!

There sure are a lot of anime to movie adaptions going one. The only one that looks interesting right now is the live action adaption of Blood the last vampire
Off topic. Anyway!
I don't think it gave the original proper justice, but it was entertaining in it's own right. I think if you keep away those thoughts of "god, piccolo looks f***ed up" it'd be a little more enjoyable

...
though seriously, that's gonna be hard because he looks kinda strange...
anyways, other that LA, what about that astroboy movie?
