Doom 2 map - MY FIRST ATTEMPT

Hi guys! I made a map for Doom 2. I call it

HUGE SLIME RESERVOIR

because that's pretty much what it is. Also that name fit the size of the levelname graphic shown at the end after beating it so I RAN WITH IT.

I uploaded it to the idgames archive but it's been sitting in /incoming in a state of neither acceptance nor rejection for a few days and I'm getting impatient so I'm going to share it here!

How do you get that key? ONLY ONE WAY TO FIND OUT!

This will NOT run in the vanilla doom.exe! It doesn't use any of the fancy new features of more modern source ports of doom but it uses a whole bunch of sectors, especially in the big slime room, so vanilla doom and chocolate doom will just sort of crash. You need something that removes many of the limits of the original doom engine, like prboom or zdoom or jdoom. There are tons of others but those are just the ones I've specifically tried it in.

This is my first map and I'm certain it's pretty horrible! Please play and give me your thoughts so maybe my next one will be better?
 
I dunno much about Doom 2 mapping, though I would very wish to learn someday as it sounds fun - but I think these look very good!

I'd play that level in a heartbeat. Of course, I'm a huge Doom fan. ^_^

Have you shown these maps to the people at the Doomworld forums? I'm kind of a member, there. I'm certain they can tell you what they think, as well.

I've been lurking on Doomworld recently, but haven't really posted much. I'll probably post for feedback there once it gets into idgames and I have a somewhat more reliable link location. I go by ElFuzzo.
 
It finally got put up on idgames. I updated the link in the op!

Also I'm working on another map which is going to be WAY BETTER than this one, or at least more interesting visually. I haven't added monsters but I'm actually thinking about how they'll be placed rather than slapping down teleporters and have a gazillion monsters pop in.

Here's a couple of scrots. Note the presence of STAIRS in the first image, something you may have noticed is completely absent from Huge Slime Reservoir! WOW.
