Some people say yes, others say no. Either way, it's generally advised that you don't use 'ultimate' (i.e. large) tilesets.

It's a lot easier to just use several smaller tilesets to map with, as you don't need every single tile in the "ultimate" set for every map.

Mine lags on some maps, but usually it has nothing to do with the tileset use, as opposed to how much of a tileset is used and the size of a map. Inq's latest ultimate for example - doesn't lag on me. But if I use excessive amounts of those tiles, it will (even on a smaller map). Whereas grasslands (yes, I'll spell it right for them) can lag if it's big enough.

it also depends on the number of events there are on the map, as well as the number of those events that are repeating autoruns or parallel processes.

Yeah. And, obviously, it also depends on the computer your running too. (RAM, processor, etc)

No. Running big maps with limited CPU and other programs and daemons runnung will lag you.
