Does anyone Know what this is??

There is a message system out there that I just cant seem to find, but I've seen it in a  few game projects, like this one:  http://www.rmxp.org/forums/index.php?topic=9846.0

Its a message system where it uses a graphical bar rather than a box to lay text over, and the character face is not limited to a square box. If anyone knows anything close to what I'm talking about please tell me. Thanks.

Could you please show us an example of such a system?  Unfortunately, the link you provided has no such example of a message system, and currently, the game's demo was removed.
