Q: What is DMSE?
A: Well the title says it. Default Menu System Enhancer.

A: A program made by me that lets users easily enhance and change the DMS (Default Menu System).

Features:
  • Change names of choices Items, Skills, Equip, Status, Save, End Game
  • Use Map as background or Picture as background
  • Use it as a 1 man, 2 man, 3 man, or 4 man cms this also sets the party amount limit for the whole game
  • Animated windows option
  • Faces or character sets option
  • Use icons in the command window option
  • Added Blizzard's Blizz Art Bars
  • Added changable window locations (wont work if animation box is checked)
  • Added save button to save generated text
  • Added clear button to clear the generated script

Upcoming Features:
  • Changing locations of windows
  • Changing options for menu statys example what you want in the menu and what you dont want

Can I help?

If you want to help, you'll need to know some RGSS and some Visual Basic if you would like to help.
Just request here if you want to help make it.

You can also post ideas for it.

Wow this might be useful, I'll download it next time.

I wonder why no one comments on it.

Could you add a screenshot of the menu using the program to show us how it looks like?

And is it only on Vista? The screenie looks Vista-ish

Also, you put the script in Scene_Class right?

Please explain this clearly, do you also overwrite it?\

Your double posting block me from posting quickly.

Next time use the "modify button"

I dont know whether this is an outrageous request.

But can you add a place where I can drag/drop the items and enlarge them wherever I want? And delete things like "Time" or "Gold"?

like enlarge the windows? Thats being worked on...dragging and dropping things not sure if possible at my level. And yes I am working on turning off/pn certain windows. It'll be in the next version

Take your time. Your quite good at VB...

a few more simple suggestions:

- Add Diablo-style inventory to your options
- Show what you want on the char's stats ( Like I can remove the name or classes )
- Add a box showing where you are if enabled.

That's about it.

P.S. where do you live in?

@gameguy
This is really good.

Here some suggestions for later updates:

- instead of having the commands stationary (s1 = "Item", s2 = "Skill"...). you could make it more dinnamic. Like making an array for the commands.
- instead of using the @command_window.index to set wich command is going to be selected, you could use the command name. This would be perfect with the feature i mentioned before:
- add an way to people to add their own commands to the menu. Something like:
Command Name: Bestiary
Call Scene: Scene_Bestiary.new
- More windows options: number of commands, set position, size, height.

If you need help with the rgss codes ( i'm not good with VB D: ) just say it.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll add a few features here and there until I get it perfect. And Atoa I plan on allowing the people be able to use up to two extra commands maybe more who knows.

Great ideas guys I'll try to work them in! :D

Wewt, GIR! Hehe, anyways.

Yeah I like the "own commands" Idea, then I'd definitely use this, might still use it anyway though and just add my own menu's manually. Great work gameguy ^^

Edit: Oh, and is this made with VisualBasic? If so, could you release the source so I could fiddle with it as well? Just for a personal use type thing, and if I changed anything important I'd send it to you.
