I'm comparing 15-17 year olds looking at this particular photo to smoking a joint (in the sense that they are both illegal BUT WHO GIVES A FUCK). Most people lose their virginity around 15-17, so I don't see why a kid (Note that I never said anything about adults) looking at a photo of a naked girl is worse than having underage sex.

Besides, this is nothing more than a picture of a girl standing there naked. It's not like there are ten guys bukkakin' all over her while she gets dp'ed. Anyone who thinks the picture is so horrible that people need to go to jail over it (even though it was kids that leaked it LOL) is an idiot. And if the picture was truly "child porn" under actual legal definitions, i'd think Vaneta, the lawyer-chick, would have said something more than just "she's cute".

From what I have read she was never fired. Disney reps say that they believe she is truely sorry for a lapse of judgement and will not let this affect her casting into HSM3. A lot of sites I went to believe they are doing this as not to affect the winning formula High School Musical has shown to have. What happens after HSM3 could speak otherwise.

Of course this wont die right away. Rumors of Lesbian pics of her and some friends are supposed to exist and she even is being said to have sent pics of herself to "Drake and Josh" star Drake Bell after appearing in an episode of the show. So even with backing from fans and currently Disney this will eventually affect her career.
