differences between defalt BS and TBS?

can someone compare and contrast the differences between the default battle system and a tatical battle system from a gamemakers point of view? for example, what things have to be done for a TBS that dont have to be done for the default (im assuming weapon/skill range, anything else?)? or do i need seperate battle maps for a TBS? what about battlers, do i just need regular 4x4 charsets for a TBS battle instead of battlers? are there any differences between the default and TBS when making monsters in the database? or any other major differences you can think of from a game makers point of view...

anyways, thanks, and i hope you can help me out. :]
i hope this is the right forum too... :\

Well, I use Gubid's GTBS. You do not need battlers, just normal charactersets of the enemy. You can create an enemy in the database, and then go into the script Module GTBS and put in the ranges, and move for each enemy. You also need to put in the range of all skills.

You have the option of using battlemaps or using the same map that the battle was initiated from.

It really isn't that hard to use.
