Deus Ex: Human Revolution

So Barret is actually impossible. I'm hiding behind a crate. If he throws a grenade at me, even with three batteries, it's an instant K.O. If I run from a grenade either he, or the grenade still instand K.O's me.

I have 11 tranq darts, 67 combat rifle rounds, and 20 pistol rounds. I've loaded all of that into his head while he's stunned from an EMP grenade and concussion grenade, and he still won't fucking die.

Like seriously, this is the worst level design EVER.

1. Never, EVER have an enemy that can one-hit K.O.
2. In a game that revolves around the idea that you don't have to kill anybody, let you complete the level without killing anybody. :|?
3. 100 HEADSHOTS SHOULD KILL -A-N-Y-B-O-D-Y- I don't care if they're augmented to hell and back.

Like, come on, how am I supposed to even do this?

Also, Deus Ex thread.

The load times are sorta annoying, especially when I die and whatnot. I'm perfectionistic about using tranqdarts, so i reload the game whenever Miss, and so that has made for one hell of a long time in the first stage/level.

The experience thing's kinda weird, as it doesn't really seem to actually do MUCH at all- the augs are like so-so noticeable, some DRASTICALLY more useful than others.

The hacking minigames are like the coolest thing there, though. The social battles with boss is kinda, well, okay, cool, square enix and their cutscenes....

It's not bad. It's sorta fun. Nowhere near into the game yet, but so far it's not bad. I can NEVER HIT when I'm shooting under cover though.

What platform are you two playing on? I have it on PC, playing on a fairly unimpressive laptop, and don't get anything too awful.

As for the rest, I haven't played up to that point yet. Been busy doing side missions and talking with the ridiculously racist information broker.

well, after loading begins, i can do 5 pushups and 10 sit ups and then get back and it finishes loading.

It was weird with the mouse at first, but then it sorta settled into its pace after that first massive intro. Moving with mouse felt glitchy, then I started killing things in the first real mission and then it felt fine.

I totally ran outta space with a revolver, tranq rifle, sniper rifle, shotfun, and lots of ammo though.

It's Pretty simple, stock up on emp grenades throw them will basically shock em and just lay the heat on him that's how i beat it.

Unfortunately in the middle of a mission, stocking up isn't really an option. I'm lucky I have one at all to be honest.

I have a save file which is basically me hiding in a room behind a crate, a split second after throwing an EMP. That's what I'm going off now. I could go back before the boss fight, but I doubt I'd find much useful.

You could try also that rocket launcher you get before hand comes in handy, i think two shots with that will kill him rather quick also stealth helps also.

Okay. First Barret will encroach on you and shoot if you are hiding behind cover which sucks because you are immobile and he will get the angle eventually. Don't use cover that way in boss fights. Instead get out of the line of fire using the columns and sidestep out between volleys for pot shots but don't use the awkward ass cover ability. This way it will be easier to run when he throws those grenades. Second you came in with a shitty weapon complement for a boss fight, but there are weapons in the room including shotguns with a shitload of ammo and at least another emp grenade. In your situation you may want to use one grenade to freeze him to make a break for better arms.

Third there are tons of weapons and ammo available before you ever reach the FEMA facility. On my second playthrough I had a combat rifle with laser sight and 100 shots, a pistol with armor piercing, silencer, and laser sight, and 130 shots, a shottie with burst firing and 40 shots of ammo. Not to mention the the Rocket Launcher with three shots from the FEMA level itself. The trick is to comb Detroit mercilessly pillaging and hacking everything. Buy all the weapon upgrades and apply them. Just combing the whole map I had amassed some 6 or 7 k in credits even after buying two praxis kits and all the available weapon kits. I just bought it this weekend and already played through. The game in my opinion was rewarding for all the load screen sitting for fuckups on my part.

Also if you are playing on regular three rocket shots won't do it, but he will be almost dead.

Racist information broker? Do you mean the black homeless woman who is stereotypical? Also don't give her any money, her info doesn't unlock anything special and she's just gonna spend it on booze. Also what did you expect? The developers are canucks. They've seen more black people in seventies blacksploitation films than in real life.

Barret: Keep trying to shoot him in the head, and he's done, but keep moving around the area. Try to throw the explosive barrels at him.

Basically all the bosses are head shot. And gone.

And for Yelena as a alternate way, zap, rinse and repeat.

I like using that mod where you can summon items and crap in your inventory, if you want a cheat a little.

Well, I did some searching outside and have found a sniper rifle with 10 ammo. The only trouble is, when I sight up, my viewpoint changes and because I'm zoomed in I don't have a clue which way I'm facing. By the time I get it pointed at the boss again the EMP grenade has worn out and he's walked up to me (which is an instant KO).

go back to the beginning of the level. There is a rocket launcher in the little cell thingie on the left of where you get off the elevator. You should have three rounds for it.

JKLDGASud4qho87re every shot with the rocket launcher misses him. Or hits him and it does nothing, I don't know.

This is pissing me off so much now, it's got to me 100 attempts so far.

uh.. have you tried simply using grenades? i killed him with 2 grenades. throw them before he starts shooting at you at the very beginning and he'll stumble from the first, and the second will blow up and you'll be the victorious mofug

First boss, right? I was able to kill him by periodically unloading a mag of ammo into him whilst he's stunned (after I threw something nearby at him to stun him).

All the bosses are pretty hard; but possible. Deus ex is a nice game, man
