Demon Fury - New Look Thread!

My god this game is gonna be awesome! I'm so privilaged to be a part of it! We must meet up soon, so we can get the demo done for the millions and millions of fans out there!

Excellent, that would be very helpful. I have nunchaku too, and lol, I have to say they're pretty useless as a weapon, but they're excellent for doing flashy demonstrations :)

Okay, it could be that you don't have the Windows Media Player 9 codec installed. If you have Windows Media Player 9 or 10, it should work. What kind of system are you running?

Alternatively, when the music is playing, you might be able to hit Escape to skip the movie and begin the game.

This is some pretty tricky shit. Navigation is proving to be a bit of a bitch though. I'm currently at the point where I have to go through the map with all the fog, right after my character you leave the backyard. I'd keep playing if only it weren't for these bloody finals.

Appreciate the effort dude, nice intro!

Heeyyy I remember this from RMRK! As I mentioned before, you have some great concept there, haven't really seen people do this before. Keep it up! :) Definitely has potential.

Well, this game is certainly different than anything I've ever seen around here, the real pictures and characters don't clash as badly as I thought they would, but the fact that the character doesn't grow and get smaller as he moves foward or backward on the screen is rather awkward, still if you could fix that problem, I'm certain this style could be a big hit.

I'm particularly impressed by the character's battle animations, although some animations for the enemies wouldn't hurt.

Music wise, I'm uncertain if the Lufia tunes fit in well. Lufia has always had a cartoonish feel to it, and to have the music play in a realistic environment doesn't seem to fit.

And btw, there's a missing file when you bring up the menu. Something about flat002 or whatever.

Anyway, keep up the good work, I'm certain this will be a big hit eventually!
Might I suggest, in future releases to add some puzzle elements, like having to find a key in the garage to open the door to the backyard.

Thanks Doctor!

:O I wasn't aware of the Flat002 error, I think that's a transition I didn't change. I'll try to fix it immediately.

As for the character growing smaller and larger on the screen, I had one script that could do that, but I could never prevent it from making the character change size when moving left and right too.

And as for puzzles, I'm planning on putting many into the complete game!

Glad you're liking it so far!

Edit: Error has been fixed!

Looks good. I'm going to give it a download and edit this post with my thoughts once I've played it. Screenshots look fantastic, though - never seen anything quite like it.

Okay, what I played was great - the animation of the player character seemed a little jerky, but that's a given, considering you're working within RMXP's sprite limitations. I'm impressed you got the "motion capture" thing done. The opening movie was awesome, too.

You're missing a file from the start of Chapter 1 - 062-Slow05 I think it said. It's an RTP file so I can add it myself and try it some more later, but thought you might want to know.

Keep up the outstanding work.

(I love the look of the "Maw" enemies, those look amazing, did you design them yourself or are they off a website?)

Sol_Fury:

Thanks for the comments! I have to update the download file to include that music file, but as far as I know, that's the only thing missing. And yeah, the Mawbeasts look cool, but they're not mine, I just named them.
