[DEMO] The Legend of Zelda : Waves of Time

(edited) If you want to see my site still (I highly recomend it), it's in my sig.

The demo is here! It's not really part of the game, and the only text is me talking to you, but it's pretty much just to show how it's kinda going to play. Thanks for the support... again!

So my game is made with RMXP, and it's an action RPG, that works like a Zelda game, with leveling up and everything. It's features include:
-Sword attacks
-Bow and arrows
-Weapons like (and including) a boomerang
-Bombs
-Potions
-Magic Attacks
-Charge Abilities (like spin attack, bomb arrows, etc.)
-Dashing
-Different Enemy AI
-Boss Battles
-Very Interesting Storyline
-Amazing Music from ZREO
-Interesting and Detailed Maps (for instance, some caves have torches where the room lights up if you walk up to it, or in some areas, the atmosphere will change when you walk into a section of a map)
-And more!

I finally have completed Screenshots!

That's pretty much my site in a nutshell. I know it's not much yet, but I tried my best, and I'll give you the basic storyline. Which is here:

Story:
(the one from Wind Waker) Link is off on his travels across the Great Sea again. One night, he crashes upon some rocks and shipwrecks near a small island. A couple pirates on the island ask for Link's help when he wakes, and Link goes to recover some treasure that a monster stole on a different island. After Link recovers the treasure, the pirates and Link begin to sail back to the island, when an abnormally large wave capsizes their ship.
(the one from Twilight Princess) Link is having a couple drinks with Ilia at Telma's bar, and sombody comes and tells the guards that there is something going on at the lake. Link follows the guards to find a pirate ship crashed in the middle of Lake Hylia. Link explores it to find a few pirates talking about a small kid that they lost when they crashed. Link goes looking for the kid, and he finds him being held in a cave by a huge monster. Link kills the monster and saves the kid. They find out that they look awfully simmilar, and head back to the ship.

The story begins (that was completing the first dungeon btw)

(toon) Ganon finds the cave where (toon) Link recovered the treasure, and finds a dark pool there where he transports to another world (Twilight Princess world). He recovers Ganon and they begin to take control of Hyrule. The godesses talk to the two Links (that are now a team) and tell them that if the Ganon's reign continues, they will have to flood the land of Hyrule. They also tell them that they need to close the portals between the worlds (the Waves of Time) with sacred water (they give them sacred water). Link and (toon) Link travel between both worlds closing the waves of time as the ganons try and stop them with hidious monsters and beasts.

This is a working storyline, but that's pretty much the gist of it

[UPDATED!]
This below me is the beginning story in even more detail (still a work in progress though) that appears on my site.

Act One (up to the end of half the first dungeon):
Link sails across the vast ocean. Accompanied by only his trusty sword and his sail. Link ventures off into the unknown, still searching for the new land of Hyrule. One fateful night out on the open sea, Link gets caught up in a terrible storm and crashes into a small island, where he lays on the beach, unconscious.
When he awakes, he doesn't remember anything about his past. As he explores the island, he discovers a small village. He talks to some of the inhabitants, and learns that the island is constantly being raided by pirates. The villagers notice Link's courage and ask him to help them deal with the pirates. Link agrees to help, and he then finds himself now equipped with a sword and shield, heading down to the dock, where the pirates keep their ship. Link sneaks onto the ship and finds the captain pacing back and forth. He notices Link standing there, looking at him, and asks him why he's on his ship. Link gives him a blank stare, and the Captain starts to tell him why he should leave, and accidentally lets it slip that he lost an important piece of treasure. Link looks questioningly at him, and the Captain tells him the story reluctantly.
‘One day, me and my boys were traveling over to this island to do some raiding, like we usually do, and all of the sudden, I noticed this shining thing in the water. We grabbed it up, and it turned out to be some weapon of some sort. But this wasn't just any old weapon, let me tell you. This thing was beautiful! It had ends that looked like wings, and it was emblazed with silver, it was out of this world ! But anyways, one of my men suggested that we burry it before anyone tried to steal it from us. I thought this was a good idea at the time, so we went over to some small island on my chart and started burying it. Right before we were about to put the treasure in, some massive bird-thing flew over our heads and stole it. I couldn't believe it! I had it right in my hands, and now it's gone!’
The Captain started sobbing a little, and Link put his hand on his shoulder, signifying to some degree that he wants to help him. The Captain agrees that if Link helps him, then the pirates won’t raid the village anymore.
Link departs to the small island with the pirates. When there, the captain tells him where they were going to bury the treasure, and tells him that monster flew off north into the jungle. Link departs on his quest to find the cave with the creature who stole the pirate’s treasure. After some exploration, Link finds the spot where the pirates tried to bury their treasure, and he then heads north into the jungle. After some more exploration, Link finds the cave and enters it, confident that this is the cave where the monster is.
Link descends down into a shallow cave, and discovers the monster sleeping on a pile of treasure. It’s Red leathery skin made it stand out in the small cave room. Link spots the dazzling weapon that the Captain spoke of, and he tries to steal it back without the monster waking up. When Link steps on some loose rupees, they fall and crash their way to the bottom of the pile, waking the monster from its slumber. The monster quickly realizes that Link is trying to  steal its treasure. The two have a short battle, and Link is victorious (hopefully). Link picks up the weapon and realizes it to be a boomerang. Excited from his victory, Link begins to head back out of the cave. Before he leaves the room, he notices a door on the other side of the pile of treasure that is mysteriously drawing Link’s attention toward it.
Link enters through the door, and he sees a small lake inside the cave room. As he looks into his reflection in the water, it drains into a crack in the floor. Link looked into the crack and saw it went on farther than he could see. Now back to his senses, Link realizes that the pirates are waiting on him to come back and give them the treasure. He leaves the cave and heads back to the shore.
When he arrives, the pirates celebrate, and head back to the village to drop Link off. On the way back to the island, however, a vast tidal wave eats their ship and plummets it instantly under the ocean…

Thanks for letting me put my game here (even if it was a tough experience). I'll give you more screens and a playable demo tomorrow, which is the start of the NCFC. Thank you very very much for being so kind and helpful!

Thanks again for not being to mean to me about me not knowing the rules. It's great that you guys have sharp-as-tack moderators here. Sorry for all the trouble, and I hope this is what you were getting at. Thanks!

No. Read the rules of this forum. You are not allowed to just link to an outside source for information on your game. You must include all of the appropriate info in this thread! If you do not fix up your post as such within twenty-four hours, I will lock this.

Have a lovely day.

I think you need two screenshots for here. But...interesting. I'm not generally a fan of...fangames, but the screenshot looks alright. Wait...two Links? One from WW and one from TP? Uh...that's a little weird, I guess. This'll be neat.

Ok, everything should be all following-da-rules. I edited another screenshot in there too.

Thanks dadevester, I'll keep posting more content as I get it

to Asch: sorry, I didn't mean to sound rude, I was just saying i've been through a lot of 'em... but yeah, sorry. I know every rule is for a reason, and I'm not saying I despise you or your rules. At all. So sorry for the misunderstanding.

Alright, alright, I'll put everything in my site here. IMO, you guys have a little too many unecesary rules... but whatever, I'll play along.
If you want to see my site still (I highly recomend it), here it is:

Lose the attitude please.  If you don't like our rules, go somewhere else.  They're there for a reason.

The screenshots are nice! Also I like the Title too! How did you do that with the Title? I'm curious, because I've seen people do that to Official Titles for their fangames too.

Well, I'm a graphic designer from VGBoxart.com (not an ad, a fact) and thats one of the things we do best  It's all done in photoshop, and it takes lots and lots of practice. If you know how to use photoshop, it's mostly done in layer styles like bevel and emboss and textures and things like that. Thanks btw ^_^

Lol what reason.

To make sure ALL members post consistentely with eachother instead of having one horrible mess of a forums. The comment wasn't even to you, so don't go instigating anything. -JD

Awesome logo.

And yea, Arshes is kinda weird. o_O

I love you're story, it's great to see someone using the alternate timeline theory as a plot device; sometimes I wish Nintendo would make more interesting use of their backstory like this.

Anyways, you have two different worlds going on here,  you seem to make pretty good use of the RTP, but I really think you need another one on top of the RTP to represent your other world.  Artistically TP and WW are extremely different, and it would be amazing if you could somehow emphasize the difference with your tilesets and charactersets.  Possibly use RTP for your Twilight Princess world and Minish Cap rips for your Wind Waker world?

Either way, It's looking good so far, and it seems like a promising fan game.  I'll certainly play it when you release something on the 21st.  Good luck.

No, arshes isn't in the game, he's just the default guy that I have from the XAS script until I get some Link sprites (which I would really appreciate if someone could help me out, if you didn't get the message before :P)

With the RTP, I'm going to assemble a new RTP for WW world, but for now, it's just going to be the standard. I'm helping Twin Matrix with her maps, and I asked her to help me a little with RTP stuff. So hopefully that'll turn out to be really cool. Thanks for the positive feedback by the way  greatly appretiated.

The XAS script has been upgraded to version 3.0.

I highly recommend getting it, it has tons of new features. Also I know there are some Link RTP styled sprites, but as far as I know none of him swinging a sword. If you want I can search the internet for some.

It has nothing to do with linking to your website and everything to do with having a self-contained and consise topic. If the member has a link to his website with additional information at the end of his post, there's nothing wrong with that. But when an entire topic consists of "go to this page what do you think", then it might as well not be a topic at all.

Oh boy! I'll have to check that out, but I have a small feeling that it's going to be too big for me to handle by the convention. I'm not so great at scripting, btw... and I would indeed appreciate some help looking for some sprites :D

I'll try out XAS3 and if I can move everything over, I'll go for it! Thanks for the info :)

Sounds like a cool game dude. Good job and keep up the work. I expecially liked the story. It's Very interesting. I'm excited to see how that all unfolds in your game. As far as Zelda Sprites...Hmmmm....
the only thing that really comes to mind for me is http://www.spriters-resource.com/nintendo/zelda/
It's got some sprites. You'de have to assemble them yourself though.

I've only got one minor, minor suggestion too. The stories really cool, but i'd change the Ganon part, only because he's in every Zelda game. I personally think it would be cool to see someone else in the mix. Weather it be made up, or a unsuspecting character already in the series. I think it would attract more people and leave room for many questions.

Once again, great job!  :thumb:

Yeah, I've been to Spriter's Recource. Not so much what I'm looking for, but it does have nice sprites :)

With your suggestion, I like it. You're right. If anything, Ganondorf should play a minor role in this. If you read the summary of Act 1, I could totally change the actual Waves of Time into a character pretty easily. It actually makes it a lot more simpler to understand and work with. Now for a name................................. hmmm..... maybe I could use some suggestions with that ;) I'll have my artists do a few conceptual drawings and I'll go ahead and post them here. Thanks!

No problem dude. If you need me for anything else, let me know, and I'll try the best I can(Give suggestions, opinions, etc.)Just PM me too if you want.  :thumb:

I know making fan games can be hard, expecially since people can be extremely picky about it, but don't give up. If you try really hard, people will take notice.  :thumb:

Ah, okay. Makes sense. I only came here after his first post had been fixed up so I missed the context of the comment, I guess. =3

Hey guys! I've been working hard on making some toon link sprites, and I was wondering if you could help me continue my big project. I need them done before the 14th, and I'll be making them too, I just wanted some help so it'll go faster. This is what I've come up with so far. It's not much, but I would really like some help making the rest of the sprites (I need something like 21 different sheets of them) So if you could help me out by making some, that'd be awsome. I pretty much need them to look just like the ones I made (duh) but in the different positions and things. I'll post the ones I've done so far, and then all the different sheets I need.

The part I've done:

Parts I Need

for those of you who want to help me out, it'd be much much appretiated. I'm going to get back to work on that first sheet there. After I finish that, the others should be a lot easier.
