Deleting Step Count and such... (Question) RMXP

I've been away from this program for so long I've simply forgotten all of the easy stuff.
Can anyone refresh my memory as to how I can delete the useless junk in my menu. Step count ect.
Thanks I appreciate it,

Remove them completely, if I recall correctly I just have to delete 4 scripts right? Just not exactly sure which ones :P

Well, you have to delete a couple of scripts, but that'll just cause the game to throw an error unless you edit Scene_Menu to remove the windows.

Awesome Bro

Glitch couldn't you just edit Scene_Menu and trick it by hiding them offscreen so they can't be seen, I did that with the status window and it worked fine, and it's a real simple edit.

I'll do it now;
Code:

#==============================================================================

# ** Scene_Menu

#------------------------------------------------------------------------------

#  This class performs menu screen processing.

#==============================================================================

class Scene_Menu

  #--------------------------------------------------------------------------

  # * Object Initialization

  #     menu_index : command cursor's initial position

  #--------------------------------------------------------------------------

  def initialize(menu_index = 0)

    @menu_index = menu_index

  end

  #--------------------------------------------------------------------------

  # * Main Processing

  #--------------------------------------------------------------------------

  def main

    # Make command window

    s1 = $data_system.words.item

    s2 = $data_system.words.skill

    s3 = $data_system.words.equip

    s4 = "Status"

    s5 = "Save"

    s6 = "End Game"

    @command_window = Window_Command.new(160, [s1, s2, s3, s4, s5, s6])

    @command_window.index = @menu_index

    @command_window.height = 224 #480

    # If number of party members is 0

    if $game_party.actors.size == 0

      # Disable items, skills, equipment, and status

      @command_window.disable_item(1)

      @command_window.disable_item(2)

      @command_window.disable_item(3)

Just replace Scene_Menu with that, if you'd like the command list to be longer, find this line;

Code:

    @command_window.height = 224 #480

And if you want the command window to drop all the way to the bottom, just delete the "224 #" part so it reads;

Code:

    @command_window.height = 480

Or if you want any other height in between, put that there instead, heh.

You know, that script still leaves the windows there, being processed. They're just offscreen, which means they are a waste of useful processing power. Instead of changing the coordinates, I would have deleted the windows, their update methods, and their dispose methods, so that it wouldn't make the windows in the first place.

The easiest way to remove them, IMO, is just to comment out (#) the lines that call the methods in Scene Menu.

Do you mean how to reset them, or how to remove them from the menu altogether? Both of these require scripts, although the second is a bit more difficult than the first.

Not meaning to go off topic, but how would you reset the step count? I had an idea for a custom system that would potentially benefit from using the step count. Could never find the reset though.
