There's nothing bad i can comment on (except the clouds on the world map, which look too big), but there's nothing extremely good either. Looks like a decent project, but what makes it different from all the other projects here?

Thanks! And critique is always welcome, especially on maps.
To be honest though, all of those screenshots are quite outdated. I'll update them soon.

Well, I suppose the Action Battle System, custom interface, and storyline will be what really makes the game stand out. I admit the use of RTP tiles and characters will take away from the games uniqueness, but I want it to be compelling in a different manner than simply shiny custom sprites.

I think it will start to stand out more once I have more physical evidence of such. I admit the game is very conceptual because I want to get all of the bugs out of the engine first before I start mapping and designing. I'm pretty happy with XAS right now, but it's complex and will take a lot of work.

In terms of story, there isn't much information about the plot so far. One thing that does stand out is the 72 year old legend thing. If it happened 72 years ago, it wouldn't be a legend. Legends are usually fake stories that took place hundreds of years. The basic plot is a little generic but im sure with some work, you can make something neat.

Your character classes are a little generic. I would try to change them up a little bit. The ABS system with a bunch of characters might not work out, I would reduce the amount of playable characters.

I also wouldnt mix the XP RTP and the VX RTP. It looks strange. The world map is a little bland as well.

The menu screen against the white text is a little hard on the eyes. You might want to add some more contrast as well.

Anyways, good luck on this. Can't wait to see what you have planned.

That all makes sense, thanks for the input!

It does certainly need a lot of work, but with time I'll fix it up. Because the game is so plot heavy I suppose I don't want to give too much away. I'd rather keep the introduction vague in order to leave it open for development throughout the game, if that makes sense.

Perhaps I will use a word different than "legends", that in itself is a bit cliche. And yes I do hope to work out the plot some more too.

So many characters in an ABS will be a bit much, but I plan to work something out such as having only certain characters available at certain points in the game. The player will have a choice of any towards the end, and I do think having a limit of four players in the party might help too.

Anyway thanks again! I'll have more information soon.

Time to bump this bad boy. After a hiatus I've started working on it again. Expect some updates/overhauling/etc. in a bit.
I'm still using XAS, so once I get that situated there will definitely be some cool concepts coming up.
