why wasting money? thats just stupid. he may be able to fix it by restoring the system to a past date.

you should of just put in the Windows CD, and gone to the RUN box by pressing
Windows Button + R and type in 'CMD', in the command prompt type
'sfc /scannow'
That will look for any corrupt window system files and replace them with the originals.
