This is obviously not the best place to advertise the game.
You don't understand that the Casual and Indie Industry is about something entirely different from the RPGs we're all used to, anyway, I'm sorry for the inconvinience.

let me give you my first impressions.

1.
  • it's generally speaking a bad idea to sell your first released game. with cases such as noitu love and other indie makers, the creator first releases a number of free games to make a name for himself before making a huge commercial project, and that sort of strategy tends to meet with more success than just counting on people to go "huh idk who the fuck this guy is but I love jrpgs running on weak engines." you'll do much better if you already have an audience and potential consumer base.

  • there is absolutely no way I would pay $25 canadian for this. your screenshots look awful, even by noncommercial standards. they read like a shopping list of habits we try to get rid of in the community. what I see here is decent to exceptionally poor scratch-spriting, custom graphics executed by severe rape of photoshop's airbrush tool, and a low-quality anime splash screen, possibly got on commission. you're using the rtp graphics (why do you need to use the rtp graphics it is a commercial game you are expected to go the extra mile), and arbitrarily slap fogs onto every map you've displayed. your story... well, there's just not enough to give a verdict here, but it sounds like vanilla epic fare. maybe that's only because it's so vague. the battle system looks like the same final fantasy knockoff shit everyone ages ten and up wants in their jrpg.

honestly, the product quality just isn't here. your english is full of holes, your graphics are for the most part ugly to look at, and there's nothing that sets it apart from the same awful games that other rmxp users are letting people play for free. it's ridiculously overpriced for the apparent value. considering you can net some badass indie on wii ware and across the internet for an average of ten bucks and under, I just don't see where you get off pricing it like you have. if you're going to sell a game, you are expected to put in all the effort necessary to make a game that is worth paying money for. right here, it's looking like just another case of Aveyond -- a vanilla commercial jrpg that's exactly the same as everything free on the market.

then again, Aveyond sold really well, so I'm not saying you're doomed or anything. chances are you'll make some stacks. if that's all you care about, congratulations, you found the right industry.

those are just my first impressions, though. please, please prove me wrong.

alright, bro, if that's the way you wanna play it. just don't forget this is isn't martyrdome; this is you releasing an incredibly substandard product and, when faced with recognition of this fact (admittedly phrased in a pretty nasty manner,) instead of correcting the problems addressed, pulling back and making hurt faces as if you're not accountable.

also don't bring up bullshit about indie gaming unless you can explain what you mean and how it's true in the first place. that shit doesn't even matter to the central point here, which is that you are selling an inferior product for a disproportionately high price. don't argue standards, don't argue effort. when your game is literally worse than most noncommercial games on the forum, how do you justify charging for it?

but whatever, bro. I can't stop people from being ridiculous, but it helps if I can stop them being around. enjoy your guaranteed success in the rm market. just don't parade your shit around on my doorstep.

come on, man. if you didn't want people pointing out your inadequacies, why put your game out there in the first place? it's called the market.

This thread really has no point anymore so I'm locking it. Delmaschio, you'd be smart to listen to mawk's advice because deleting your thread and rejecting criticism is not going to get you anywhere or get you respected at all, especially if you're serious about getting into indie game making. mawk was right on every one of his points and there was no need to delete the thread. This kind of stuff looks bad and I don't want to see shit like this again, okay?
