The basic premise for this game is a complex structured story based on an alignment system.
The alignment system runs throughout the game affecting a large amount of it's aspects.


  • Story Opening:

    At the age of 19, Dante was arrested in Regalis on charges of murder and stealing.
    In the midst of the robbery an innocent shop clerk was murdered.
    The murder wasn't actually committed by Dante but as he was the prime suspect, and the wound on the clerk matched the weapon he had attempted to steal, he was arrested and sentenced to 8 years in the Regalis State Tower.

    After being trapped in the claustrophobic prison he started to hallucinate and have very strange, but very real, dreams.
    The night of his parole hearing he had a particularly real dream. The Reaper confronted Dante and attempted to kill him.
    As the blow was dealt Dante awoke in his cell, sweating with shock and fear.

    He fell back to sleep and awaited his hearing. He was woken by his guard and escorted to a court before the King and Queen of Regalis.

        A man who grew up as a quiet child, always seperated from the other children because he was 'different'.
        His name supports a legacy that Fate will uphold and though he does not realise it Dante will follow in his ancestors footsteps and create balance in the inequality between darkness and light.

        He is the affinity of death.
        He is the cause of all evil.
        He is the reaper of departed souls.
        And you are his next victim!

Thanks for the mapping criticism i would like more so i can improve my skills really.

Anymore feedback is very welcome.
 
On the mapping front, I'd suggest only making interiors as large as the stuff you have to put in them. Don't be afraid to have a lot of the room made up of the wall/ceiling autotile. Real life rules can't always carry over to rmxp, so even though a prison may be open in real life, it needs to be more confined or detailed in rmxp to not look so sparce. This is becasue the rtp tilesets can't compensate for little variations like a real jail would have, with cracks, lighting, erosion etc. instead the rtp just repeats making a repetitive image for the player.

And I say it to everyone but learn how to splice together your own tilesets from all the different rtp type sets. This can seriously give you much more freedom when mapping.

Again thanks, I was looking at some mapping tutorials and was blown away by the quality of some maps. Shows that mine definately need work!

UPDATE:
I am working on producing a new, more complete demo...including a 'good' decision after the hearing rather that only the evil one that is implemented now.
 
UPDATE:
Sadly this project is temporarily dead.
My computer has suffered a boot virus 'YoYo' and sadly I can't find a way of accessing my files so I am having to resort to formatting.
I won't be able to remake the game exactly, but it did have bugs so in a way this is my chance to rebuild it cleanly.
I'll update this with the projects progress.

PS Nevertheless I am still looking for that writer and while I am rebuild the game they could help write the next stage.
