the only situation where a poll's useful if you actually have a specific thing you want an opinion on, and it easily condenses to a few simplified choices. you can't condense all someone's thoughts and ideas about a game they see into a few three-letter responses and get a result that means anything at all.
also "destory" isn't the only thing wrong with that. your dialogue in general is just... ugh. it's mega typical. it's Power Rangers dialogue.
also the way they're written completely wrecks the flow and the illusion that maybe a real person is saying it. your writing is awkward and sometimes I honestly can't believe you've done some of the things you have ("until...." and then an ellipse which spills over from that line into the next and has nothing after it)

Your characters are also pretty cliche as well. They dont have any outstanding and original qualities to them. They are bland in my opinion. Spicen them up by adding these traits and qualities. Also your characters seem completely off balanced when it comes to combat. You are not creating a balanced party. Back to the story. The story itself is cliche as well. A power hungry ruler tries to take over the land. Dont get me wrong, when executed properly this is a classic black and white tale that we all love and enjoy, but seeing as this is your first game, you dont have that experience required to make this happen. Its not your fault, its your first game after all, but this needs to be mentioned.
yes.Making a game and making a story are two different topics. Anyone can make a good story, but make a bad game. Anyone could make a good game, but make a bad story. Are you going to tell a writer who is new to RPG Makers, that he is not experienced enough to make a story in a game?
it's all a matter of whether or not they try to release the first game, though. if you're inexperienced, it's better to have a practice run that never sees the light of day than to learn over the course of a serious project.Let's face it, everyone's first game is bad. Really, it's just like that. I think you have to make the cliche story, underdevelpoed characters etc. in order to improve later.

I was talking about the first project which is realized with the maker. I don't consider an idea which you develop for yourself a "game".mawk":3lxdjmak said:it's all a matter of whether or not they try to release the first game, though. if you're inexperienced, it's better to have a practice run that never sees the light of day than to learn over the course of a serious project.
Ok, maybe it's not his first game(even though it could be, if he has only VX then it would he his first...)But it doesn't really matter.Dr™":3lxdjmak said:obviously it's not his first game in rpg maker. What he needs to do is take the advice, and use it, instead of making excuses.

I just looked back through the previous posts. Back in May, I told you that you need to improve your mapping and make your maps smaller and use the correct tiles. Seeing in your new cliche-story trailer, you still have not improved. Here's my advice:
Take a break, look over a few tutorials. Maybe improve your story a little to make it less cliche. "There was once peace in the world, and now there's evil." That's old and overused by most new users. Work on your maps, just because the height and width is 17 x 13, it does not mean you have to feel the space. Try to add some variation. Squares aren't attractive. I hope you take my advice. Oh, and one last thing. I am fine with RTP, but it would be nice if you could get at least a custom character set for your main character? Nobody likes Aluxes any more.
edit
Also, before you decide to pull the "I'm new" card, I advise you don't. If you keep believing that and using it as an excuse you will never improve.
Oh, and for the "Rpg Maker VX is square and limited" card, You can make it work. I made this in VX: viewtopic.php?f=78&t=65901
It really isn't that difficult, just practice.
-Read slowly. Dr's orders.
I am not trying to make any excuses. I am making my game the way I want it, NOT THE FUCKING WAY YOU WANT IT. This is my first VX game. I never once used that as an excuse. It is simply a honest statement.Numb":hx9f0raw said:Haha. This is why I love this site.
True, first games are typically bad, but obviously it's not his first game in rpg maker. What he needs to do is take the advice, and use it, instead of making excuses.
