[Dance With Me] - "Film Music"

My apologies for making another of this kind of thread, but since this isn't a resource, this is pretty much the only place to post it at.

After watching the movie WALL*E, I thought it might be refreshing to try to write a "film music".

For some reason, the "space dance" scene wasn't particularly memorable to me compared to some of the other ones, unlike the general consensus; but I did greatly enjoy the music used there called "Define Dancing". And so I decided I'd attempt to write my first "film music" to try to aim for that mood. . . Hopefully it didn't turn out too messy.

[Harp, strings and flute. Composed in Finale 2006, recorded with Garritan Personal Orchestra sound library.]

For those who have watched the movie, try to imagine that scene when listening to it and see if it fits.  It's obviously no where near as good as Define Dancing and nor as upbeat, but hopefully the mood is still right.

Thank you for your time in advance!

P.S. The recording process seemed to lag the playback tempo a bit at times, but it shouldn't be too big of a distraction.

I just love it, Reives.

I think it's so beautiful, and fits very well for the scene you were pointing. It's peaceful sound and soothing melody WILL transfer us to other places, if you just close your eyes. In the middle of the song, more or less, wen the very high flute comes in, I almost felt a chill on my spine. That does not happen frequently, only when the song I'm listening is just unique.

I had a very good time listening to it, although I never seen the movie, I imagined a bit of Expressive Dancing. I love that song.

Good job ^^

Thanks for listening, Nuno.  The flute climax part in the middle is my favourite too, albeit being a typical progression style in film music. Glad it sounds expressive-dancing-ish! The actual music used in the film is a bit more up beat, with these cool synth effects and mandolin or something.

And thanks in advance then, LGBT. c:

Holy shit Reives, this is really nice. I love the luminous progression of it. You can really work wonders with the GPO in Finale (Most of my stuff tends to sound messy).

Man, I love your music and I cant wait for your future works.

What key was this written in, though?

Hey, thanks! Glad ya enjoyed it. GPO isn't that bad to be honest; it's certainly no EWQL, but with some mass dynamic expression abuse, it still is a fairly viable output quality-wise.

It's written in F major throughout.

Holy crap.

I can't wait for the music video.

Obviously it's hard to recall timing from memory, but the sense of space, the aural development, echo effects, interlaced harmonies...*sigh*. I don't mean to wax rhapsodic, but dear me, this is beautiful.

Just gave it a fourth listen. Yup, still amazing.

I can hear where the lag occured, but it really is barely noticeable unless you're listening for it, and even then, hardly at all.

Well, well done.
