Thanks to the post your script ideas thread, i came up with an idea that i couldn't pass up.

Dance Off - Low Flowing

I don't think this is a game that needs a full blown story, but a shadowed one i think.

Recruit, Train, Fight, Dance your way to the Dance Off Championships.

Features: (I want implimented)

A dance Training/Battle System: like those games at an arcade or something where you gotta jump on the arrows. Using Alot of picture graphics to make the Dance system very sexy. Dance moves so it's not just up down left right, it's a heap of other things to make cool dance moves like jumping on your hands and spins and what not

Crew Dance Systems: (Your whole crew dancing against another, this is where the a second training system will come in handy, for training your crew). Allowing for awesome coordinated synchronized moves and killer finishes.

Crew Fighting: Battle it out against rival Crews to take your turf and clean them outta the race for good

20+ Techo songs (mp3) to dance and train to

Different Dance Styles

Dance point system: Need a certain amount of points and respect to make it into the dance off

Character customization: Change your crew colour, crew style, Crew tags and Crew houses. ( I want atleast 50 of each, alot of work, but cmon it's gotta have some sort of customisation, not just 2 or 3 pieces you can change here and there)

Dance levels: Crew members have different levels of dancing (not the actual names but: Beginner, intermediate, expert, pro) Train them up through the training system and unlock more moves

Move Skill shop: Have enough dough and high enough Dance level to be taught a new skill, you have to pay for the skill training and also master the skill through the training system before you can implement it into a crew battle

So what do you rekon? It'll be alot of work, but i rekon this could be a very sexy looking game, throw me your opinions people

So DDR, with rpg-elements basically? Kind of reminds me of the dodgeball game for GBA, where you train and recruit members, and theres tons of skills etc.

But I mean, personally I dont enjoy DDR, but if your game looks cool, and the game play actually works, then i'd give it a try.

Also what do you mean by:

Are you expecting the players to actually have a dance pad connected to their computer or what? I don't get it. How would you execute dance moves, if your just following a predetermined up-up-down-left-hold routine?

It would be kind of cool if you gave it an overblown story, like youre competing in a tournament to save the world with your dance moves.

And lastly, music-based games have tons of visuals and animations. I'm not an expert but actually coding and creating a DDR type system should be possible, but to have tons of different dance moves and actually have it look good, would take a lotttt of work.

Well I personally think its a great idea. Thinking outside the box is the best way to get a playable game. Just keep in mind that in a game like this the player needs options. I hate ddr and guitar hero because all you do is dance play guitar. If you want something that stands out give the players choices and plenty of other stuff to do. And good luck!
