Anyhow, I had finally came up with a basic plot for my game, and I would like an opinion on it's structure and design so far. Note, it's a WIP.
he basic idea: Once again, Dr. Eggman is on a search for the seven chaos emeralds to fuel another
doomsday device of his named the Chaos Ray (WIP name btw), and from an encounter with Eggman
during the beginning of the game, the hero decides they have to stop Eggman from collecting all the chaos
emeralds. (merely for chivalry and reasons like the belief to do well but it could also be personal reasons
from the hero) However, the first encounter with Eggman is scripted so that the player loses the first chaos
emerald either way, to open the plotline for a weakened blast from the Chaos Ray that turns all the major
Sonic canon characters into Chao. The player can fight Eggman later though, and if they win; they earn
back that chaos emerald.
Also focusing on gameplay and interactivity, the player will have a specific amount of time to complete a stage. If they fail to complete it under the time limit, Eggman will steal the stage's chaos emerald. This opens a point for interactivity, where the number of chaos emeralds the player has at the end of the game will determine the ending.
Note: I know, the concept of being in a race against Dr. Eggman for the CEs is pretty cliche but nearly all of the non-spin off games use this. Besides, it's better than no plot at all! :D
