Cutscenes and camera movement

I am wondering how exactly to go about making the camera leave the map the player is on, go to a different map, and follow something to a certain point where an event takes place then return to the player.
Example:
In my game you are trying to reach the top of a house, to do this you must unlock secret passages, missing levels, and hidden rooms. Whenever a new floor is opend or a new room unlocked, I want the camera to travel up(or down) the building until reaching the location of the event, then show the new room or floor grow out of the sides or whatever it does.

Anyways, hopefully I made sense.
 
I don't believe there is a way to make the camera move,
however there is a roundabout

You can set it up so that the player x and y are recorded
then the player's graphic is changed to none
then he is teleported to the map he needs to see
his graphic is turned back to the original
then he is teleported back to the earlier map
with X = Variable Player X and Y = Variable Player Y

So in the end your event looks like this:
