Custom Map Scrolling

Ok, as most of you know I'm attempting to make a Dual-Screen style SDK coded in RPGXP's RGSS. So far I have made the dimensions ok, but when it comes time to scroll, the map scrolls when the sprite reaches the end of the screen. When you go back the other way, it doesn't scroll in the middle, rather on the edge again.

My question is I need to know how to change the coordinates for the map scrolling to fit this style. I've almost pinpointed the variables, but if someone knows where I can look then I would be very appreciative.

btw: the screen is about half the size of the normal one, and is centered in the middle of the screen
