Critique on my title screen?

the background is just a modified version of http://www.spriters-resource.com/custom_edited/mario/sheet/18038 by slick

just slapped some text on it, its extremely simple but i think it is effective and gives it a feel of generic videogames.

what do you think?

edit: incase you are wondering, the start load and quit buttons will probably be on the top left corner and not in the center

i think it works really well, it really gives the impression, maybe giving an exact /3 grid will equilibrate the design and give a nicer expression

/3 grid = divide each section by exact 3, since there is a division but its not exact.

the 3 strips must be exactly same height, the brown with the dark green is one visual stripe then the bushes with the sky and part of the dark blue is another, and the last stripe is the dark blue. fix the size to be the same for the 3 stripes and it will look better (it wont look square since the designs is really good and no one will notice they are same size) it will just be adjusted and give a nicer impression to the eye
