Critique My First Sprite

I read the tutorial at ColorMagix, and have decided to take up spriting. My first attempt is on the Breeze Template. I named him Johnny, because I thought he deserved a name.

Great for a first start! I think the hair looks a little...I don't know...strange. Kind of 'straight'...

Then again, what do I know? :P

I'll see what I can do with the hair. But I updated the sprite with what I've done of the walking animations. I think I need the most help with them.

Serenade, do you mean like the side view hair?

You killed his head in the side view. The head's there for a reason- add hair to it, don't make it smaller. There's lots of other problems, but fix that first.

Green Raven helped me out some. How do you like him now? I fixed his hair up.

Much better. The front view still has that annoying pointy problem.

Yeah, I'm glad someone noticed the resemblance. Also, the "annoying pointy thing" is just how his head is. It looks exactly like the tutorial.
