critique BT mainchar.

For my BT project, I've got a couple characters. I'll edit this post as I start the other ones.

here's the main character, I want to know wether or not I should keep his mouth closed or not, and keep in mind contrast is of utter importance, as I will be having chokingly bright character's along with dark demonic, bloody-sworded Knights. Okay, well, maybe just one, but I Started on his portrait.

-.- I'm not too good at coloring dark in pixels though, I can't really tell the contrast too much, therefore resulting in blobs of evil.
 
The face dosent seem symetrical at all. the way you made the character look it seems as though you just dumped the templates features and colored over it. i dont think thats a good idea. instead of continueing on other frames i think you should work on tjhe first frame it self. dont make the mistake of continueing until you got the nice design, shading and colors.

Yes... I am going to add more shading to the face... Btw, this is my first ever completley finished charset, not being an edit, so I am kind of happy the way it turned out, but there is still a ton of room for improvement...
 
Yes you need to spend more time on shading the sprite and the face. i personally think you are rushing this to much. i should know i used to rush everything. you need to take the time to get the sprite to look really good. i know your prolly gonna say no one can reach perfection. thats true but you can get pretty close. you should re design that sprite and work on it slow and ask for ways to improve it.

@sir lonesite: Yes, I would do as you have said and redesign it... Except I am trying to get all of my spriting and graphics done by thursday, because this is for my Black tuesday entry. After I have completed everything else I will go back and work on redesigning them.
