Criticism on Custom Template

Hey there, I'm looking for some C&C on a template I am attempting to create for use in my game.

And please none of that "oh no, naot another template " shit.

Spoiler: Template Row 1 Outline

You may notice that It somewhat resembles the Halfkaizer template by Showkaizer. This is because it is a wonderful template, and i'm using it for reference for now. I'm also currently using it's palette.

I've done the southern facing walking animation. 

So critique!

There's not really enough here yet to give you a proper critique. Keep at it.

Ok, do you think the chest looks ok though?

Hmm, not really, it's too straight at the moment, and the legs seem way too short, cause of the line that seperates them

I have a hard time commenting on this until this atleast becomes more than a silhouette. Put some detail in there that makes it look less like a blocky ghost and then we'll know how to help you.

I just want to get the outline down right now Venetia, so I'd like critique on that.

Advice: don't start with outline. Start with block shapes.

Like this. Shitty examples because I just dug up whatever I had lying around, but you get the idea.

From there, define the pieces individually. Basically, you'd be working the opposite way that you are now. It makes proportions and anatomy easier and will really help with animation when you get there.
