Creating a single downloadable instalable file for my game?

So I finished the demo for my game and I want to put it in a website and when you download it there'll be a setup that extracts the game file and makes the game playable. The problem is I don't know how to that like what program I use?help......?

Alright i'm realy sorry for this reply if it's nubish but I realy know what RTP is? can you explain or take somewhere that will explain. i'm new to rpg maker!!!!!!!!!!!btw I don't want it with rtp cause I thinks it's like the data or something. please reply!!!!!!!

The RTP is the Run Time Package, or the collection of graphics, audio and runtime library (RGSS###.dll)

RMVX gives you the option on including the RTP when you compress the game data.

The best thing to do here is to copy the files that the game uses into your project's folder and select "None" from the dialog box Game/Select RTP.

The files used in RGSS-RTP Standard are usually located at:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Enterbrain\RGSS\Standard

Alternatively, if you use RPG Maker VX, the files used in RGSS2-RTP RPGVX are usually located at:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Enterbrain\RGSS2\RPGVX

There you can copy the files that your game needs into your project's folder.  To open the project folder, select Game/Open Game Folder.

Finally, copy the file RGSS102E.dll or RGSS202E.dll into the project's folder.  This file is normally located at C:\Windows\System32.

After doing so, you can compress the game as usual.

before I do all of that you guys do know i'm using rpgmaker vx right?
edit: ok so say I do all you wanted me to do. with the game compressed I want people to be able to dowload the comppressed data and just play it without having to have an rgss player or whatever it's called.

alright when you said copy the files I need......what exactly are they or like what are you talking about if someone can reply.
Sorry for questions :sad:i'm very new to rpg maker and what it does and scripting and things like that!

The RTP files are the default graphics and sound that come with the game.

Another way to copy them over is to Export them (using the Resource Editor) into the game's own file, if it works anything like RMXP.

so say for example in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Enterbrain\RGSS2\RPGVX folder(RPGVX folder) the folder graphics. I would copy that into my games folder same thing with audio and then it I just compress the game and then people can download it(thecompressed file) from the internet and play the game without using the rtp player or whatever its called?

Oh sorry, didn't notice it was VX. It should be even easier, I think, when you compress the game there should be a little checkbox that asks you if you want to include the RTP. I don't have the program installed, though, so I'm not 100% sure.

yeah yeah your right I'll compress it now but after i compress the data(the game or folder or whatever)all I need to do is post it on the website and then you'll be able to play my game?If yes then thank you all for the contrubution of this problem if not I still thank all of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :thumb:
edit:I have not yet compressed the data yet because I'm adding a couple scripts to my game but eventually I'll do it and let you guys know(i'll keep you posted).

Thank you for viewing
