Couple Questions [UNSOLVED]

couple things I've had troubles with

1) How do you have people follow you? I want it so that they wait after a cutscene first to follow me. And so they stick behind you and that they follow you to the next map.

2) How do you figure out a balanced battle system? (health, damage, etc.)

3) What's the best technique to have a cutscene in a map when you want it to happen? (I use a conditional branch and a variable in the trasport door and I was wondering if there's an easier way besides making new maps)
 
1) There's actually a movement type that allows you to do this. In the event window, select "Approach" for the movement type. It won't work perfectly; they might get stuck behind objects. I believe there is a script for this that works a little better...you could do a Search in the Submitted Scripts section.

2) Nothing works better than simple experimentation. Use the "Battle Test" a lot in the database to help you. When you become a little more advanced, you can use the damage formulas to help you and you could even modify them yourself, but they're a little complicated and confusing at first.

3) For cutscenes, you almost always use Autorun. If you're wondering how to make it happen WHEN you want, there will need to be some sort of switch or variable to trigger it. Remember that when you have an event with multiple pages, the highest number page has the highest priority. I generally use one "cutscene" event for each map, which has multiple pages of cutscenes that are triggered by a variable.

EDIT: Also, let us know if you're using XP or VX, because that could change some things.
 
I'm using "Postality Knights Edition ENHANCED", and when I use Follow Hero the guy follows me before the cutscene is over. Also, he can't catch up with me or follow me to the next map. This is even a bigger issue when I need 10 soldiers and 1 leutinent to follow me. (don't ask why, it's just how I'm doing it.)
 
If you're using the "approach" movement method, you'll have to place that character in every map you want him to follow. Events will NOT transfer to other maps using "transfer" events. If he's having problems keeping up with you, you might want to do a search for a script that allows for events to follow you "better".

Note that having events follow you around is kind of a difficult problem, mainly because it can involve AI for getting around obstacles. The scripts I have seen for this get around that by making the other characters follow you so close that obstacles wouldn't be a problem.
 
When I tried to import tiles (that were't even good) It got rid of my own tiles and now there's only a few ground pieces on the pallets. (All middle layer and third layer pieces are missing) Because of this, my maps in my game are realling screwed up. lot's of white emptiness replacing the middle and third layer pieces. I NEED a way to restore the old default tileset so my games will go back to normal. PLZ!
