Colormagix DBZ Breeze

These very seriously lack depth.

You really really need to work on your palettes. If these sprites use the same palettes that you advertise on your site, I think it's a good example as to why you shouldn't be spreading those palettes for other people to use.

Despain you always know exactly what to say to inspire me to not like you :D thanks for your opinion though.

He's right though. You only use two noticeably different values for the hair (at the most). It isn't that your palettes are bad, but you need to utilize them effectively.

;D OMG. They are sooo cute! I love the breeze template. You do need to add more shading however, but otherwise, off to a good start!

I have to agree with the other commenters. To enhance the detail of the hair, try adding fine strains of dark colour at the bases of each clump of hair. It's a simple method to add a more hairlike quality and depth.

Leaving aside the fact that a.) it's DBZ and b.) It's DBZ looking absurdly cute (which creates allot of very conflicting feelings at the depth of my soul..) the colors are in fact washy and too similar in tone for use in sprite work, especially on such a small scale. Keep in mind that for a very very long time, professional spriters were limited to a maximum of 16 colors total per sprite, thus they had to milk those 16 colors to give as much depth and beauty as possible on a small scale. Good color separation is your friend, and the pastel look you seem to so love just isn't effective at all for this kind of thing. Despain's a little bit coarse in his analysis but it is accurate.

Despite how much i dislike breeze they look decent in thier own right. Try NOT pillow shading the hair and adding more contrast and diversity into your pallet so that its not so flat
