I just know this is going to trigger an unintentional flame war, but it's up to the responders if they wanna start something.

Well, more or less, when Modern Warfare 2 comes out, would you get it for PC or 360?

I thought I would never ask this kind of question, but seeing as how I just got my 360 and started playing shooters for the sake of playing with my friends (and the lack of effort in general as far as console to PC ports goes or just PC support in general) I am actually starting to enjoy shooters on consoles. Granted however, I'm only playing exclusives to the 360, namely Halo 3 and Gears of War 2. Now that Modern War 2 is coming up, my all time fav FPS, I'm now debating which version to get. (For once.) Never aiming with sticks for a long period of time since the N64, I'm surprised I"m doing as well as I am. All in all I could say I"m "resonably" good at Halo 3 with a social K/D ratio of 1.3, abliet I'm only playing Team Slayer to death. (come on you braggers, I know your just dying to swing your !%#! in my face) but I"d still rather be playing with a mouse if I can help it. However, the lack of PC support in PC games in the past or finding literally no on online in PC games (*cough* Saint's Row 2/FEAR 2) has really gotten me down...coming to XBOX live was a real surprise to me, both in support and population.

I know COD 4 never had a problem as far as the number of people to play with, and seems to of only went down when when World at War came in, but things can change. (And as far as COD 4 goes I have about 500 more kills than deaths so obviously I enjoy the control scheme better) My main concern is the aiming. I'm downloading the demo to World at War right now for XBOX (with no intentions of buying it though, I just want to see how the aiming is compared to Halo 3, or GOW 2.)

So for now my vote is the PC, but mainly for the mouse. If it comes out to be another FEAR 2 faliure (the multiplayer, not the single) then I'll be pissed.

Well since it's a CoD game, I'd say go for PC, because it's one of the most popular PC FPS games out there, I mean, there's still shit tons of people who play CoD1, myself included (Damn MP_Harbor is so awesome), and as you've said yourself, you prefer using a mouse.

I guess it just depends, what do you favour more;

The ability to play with friends via your 360.

or having a wider variety of maps to play, more people to play them with (The PC CoD games can have 32v32 instead of the 8v8 on consoles), and overall easier controls.

Another main reason why I think the CoD games are better on PC than consoles, the map packs are free, which is always a huge bonus, and there's always people modding the game, making different skins, and making new maps for people to play, and all these just add to the fun factor.
I mean, CoD4 on the PC, someone has made Jets, Jeeps, Tanks and Hoverboards, all of which are 100% functional, and they're so well made that it's unbelievable and you'd think Infinity Ward coded them in.

However, that's just my two cents, it's entirely up to you, don't jump on the bandwagon and do what everyone else is just because THEY say it's good.

I completely forgot about the max 16 players on consoles. Are all games like that? It's a shame...cause I just tried the World at War demo...I was shocked...the aiming is actually well done...no auto aim, in-game or dashboard. Halo has sticky targeting, (and you can't turn it off no matter what) but it's probably to make up for the fact that you have to keep your aim on someone for so long cause you take a hundred bullets to die. Gears of War has no auto aim (not that I see) but you could pre-aim while taking cover before exposing yourself to fine tune your aim and fire. WAW, has neither..so I'm surprised. (Okay, I noticed a hair of sticky targeting when using iron sights, but it's not as generous as Halo, plus with a big screen I don't have to sit so close to the screen to get a bead on someone.)

Still, 16 players? That ain't much, I would of gone for at least 20. I'll probably still get it for PC, for the sake of more players.

On a side note, are all other FPS games in the 360 this well done with the aiming? I wouldn't mind trying out more 360 exclusives if that's the case.

Killzone 2, Reisistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2 all have 16v16, with both Resistance games having MORE than that, Resistance: FoM has 20v20, and Resistance 2 has 30v30. I'd much rather play FPS games on the PC, but those 3 games I listed are for PS3 only, so.. I'm stuck there for those.

High five to that motherfucker ! -- I still haven't got my PS3 back though

And just to add on, when M.A.G comes out, the PS3 will have an exclusive game with 128 vs 128 (Thats right, 256 per match !), which I'm REALLY looking forward to !

But yeah I'm still sticking with my first post, if you have to choose between getting a CoD game for PC or console, the PC will win for the fact that there's more people to play with, unless they change it and allow consoles to have up to 64 people (I'm not being a fanboy, but I honestly don't think the 360 can handle that many, I mean, you'd think they'd atleast try it with Halo or something big, eh ?), cause I find that the conversations people have while playing on the PS3 or 360 are alot more... "interesting", lol...

I assume you mean "interesting" as in any of the following or similar to:

"YOU FUCKING NOOB!"
*background laughter*
*You suck!"
*conversation about how his or her day was to another player*
*..........(barely audible)*
*afhghaleliwjfwozlijewiojwo (Mr. Muffles or Kenny on steroids)
*random song set to loop indefinetly*
"WOOT" "Scooby doobie doo!" or any other random word or phrase repeated over and over and over and over and over and over and over........

Or my personal favorite
*static..static...static..static*

As far as M.A.G. goes...I'm a bit skeptical. Even if they could pull it off that sounds like a P2P game. I remember what I think was the first massive FPS game, I think it was Joint Operation, which was 128(64vs64) max. While the tech was phenomonal at the time..I could never get into it after taking anywhere between 3-8 minutes just to get into some action only to either die or just make ONE kill all in 10 seconds. That and the game itself wasn't that good. Then the Battlefield series came in, and while they toned it down to a max of 64, at least you didn't have to wait so long anymore before you started seeing people other than teamates.

Still, I think it depends on the game. If the game takes on a more realistic approach and thus fewer hits to die, then it's usually tatical game modes and 32 or more players. If players are walking tanks...than it's usually are fewer players and more kill type game modes. (I just can't get into skirmish types in Halo...5 players to split up amongst several defense points AND to attack somewhere is not enough. It feels like a game of paintball with your close friends only everybody is actually physically fit  )

EDIT: Damnit! I was hoping my friend wouldn't get Left 4 Dead on the 360...and now he has. While I love L4D, I have it for PC. If I want to play with him, it means me buying a game that I already own. Of course he only got it for $25 bucks, but still. These things are like fads. I remmeber back in the day when PC gaming was the thing and if you got a good PC you could play with nice graphics and online. Consoles was all about the splitscreen, nothing more. I never had a good gaming PC and when I finally did get one to play with my friends suddenly everyone is back to the console again..which can now go online. Bullshit if you ask me.

Indeed I do.

I will get the PC version, because of custom stuff that eventually come out. And I like the mouse interface, shit forbids me from getting used to playing FPSes on consoles. Oh and I'm also choosing the PC version cause of better graphics x.x

Im trying to get the limited edition one for the Xbox (only known to be in UK so far and cost 120$) but after a few comments I saw here, I might consider getting this for the PC. Sadly, I don't think my laptop or any of the computers in my house are capable of playing the game, in a high performance that is and not being laggy like shit. But my Video Card is the default that comes with Vista Home  So Graphics for the PC aren't looking good for me.

I hated the 1st Modern Warfare, and confident I'll hate the 2nd, I however think you should get the 360 version, more support, more online interactivity with friends & support if something goes wrong.

Unless you have an ownage graphics card.. in which case just get it for the PC. Better graphics, Custom Stuff & Mods.

What do you hate about the 1st Modern Warfare?
And I'll probably get the Xbox Version, but what custom stuff comes with the PC version? (I'm looking it up now)
But for now, I'm saving for the 360 Modern Warfare Limited Edtion (not Hardened, Limited) and probably a regular version for the PC. Hopefully, there is sometype of benefit for Modern Warfare 2 for playing the first Modern Warfare.

meh, I personally can't stand console shooters - aiming is way too jerky and difficult
IMO the mouse and keyboard is the best control scheme for shooters and always will be

btw Sam just google COD4 mods ;)

alright, thanks, google comes up with call of duty modern warfare pc and pc specs and all I has nothing of what I want to know.
And one more thing,
Are the PC requirements out for the game yet or not?

Ehh...I might get it for Xbox since I have abunch of friends on Live and I usually put Visual Effects at Normal to Low on my laptop. Hmm, I guess I'll just get Modern Warfare 2 and do what I did with the Gears of War 2 situation lol.
Only difference, is that I don't see Gears of War 2 being as good as Modern Warfare 2 nor the 1st one

Quite simply everything. I completed the campaign in 3 hours, the limited edition holds nothing I would have wanted, and I really hate the multiplayer system.

Yes, the Campaign I don't like. Mainly because I've repeated it and played it on Veteran
(leading to an average of 1.3 :dead:ps :D)
However, there is nothing wrong with the Multiplayer..unless you get raped by hackers in every match you play.
For everything in Multiplayer is fair (unlike Gears of War  )
So either its the people you first tried it out with or you probably don't like those type of shooters.

In CoD4 the newbs will start off with shitty guns which dis-courages them from playing, and get owned by the nerds with the golden-plated AK-47's a Deagles & shit, which furthermore discourages them from play. Let's just say I don't have Xbox Live - I get a shitty 3 hour campaign with a few difficulty options... THAT'S ALL.

While in GoW, you don't get to "earn" anything, so it makes it fair for everyone. The campaign is actually worth completing on the highest difficulty, and it actually has replay value.

The models can put a handicap on you.. but damn will you look cool while you drown in a pool of your own blood.
